About the Team

Are you passionate about engineering and eager to make an impact in the world of payroll? Workday Inc is seeking a highly motivated Software Application Engineer to join our Payroll Performance team in Atlanta. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on exceptionally innovative payroll features and enhance the performance and scalability of the Workday Payroll application.

About the Role

As a Software Application Engineer, you will play a key role in driving and building scalable solutions within Workday's Payroll Application Development organization. You will collaborate with a world-class team to determine architecture improvements and successfully implement them to support the world's largest enterprises. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your engineering skills and contribute to the flawless functioning of our payroll application.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance innovative payroll features to meet the evolving needs of our clients
• Collaborate with teams from different departments to identify and implement architectural enhancements that improve performance and scalability.
• Address and resolve intricate technical challenges to ensure the seamless operation of the payroll application.
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to ensure high-quality and maintainable codebase
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our payroll application

About You

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience with Web application development or SaaS (Software as a Service); UML is a plus.
• 3+ years Object-oriented design and development experience in an OO language (such as Java, Python, C#, C++, XO, etc.)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).

Other Qualifications:

• Proven experience in software application engineering, preferably in performance, or payroll domain
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as Java or C++
• Experience with database systems and SQL
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $124,000 USD - $186,000 USD

 

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $117,800 USD - $210,000 USD
