Job Description

Why this role matters

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, strong procurement enablement capabilities are essential to driving operational excellence, enterprise scalability, compliance, and business transformation across the global Procurement organization. As the organization continues to evolve across systems, processes, governance, and cross-functional operations, successful execution of enterprise initiatives is critical to enabling sustainable business performance.

This role exists to lead the execution of complex global Procurement Enablement initiatives, ensuring strategic priorities are translated into governed, scalable, and measurable outcomes.

As Program Manager, Procurement Enablement, you will operate at an enterprise level, owning the delivery, governance, and integration of global initiatives across Procurement and key business stakeholders. This role is accountable for driving execution at scale, aligning cross-functional teams, and ensuring initiatives deliver measurable operational and business impact.

How will you make an impact?

You will be accountable for delivering complex global Procurement Enablement initiatives that improve operational effectiveness, strengthen governance, enable scalable processes, and support enterprise transformation objectives.

Operating without direct reports, you will lead through influence in a highly matrixed global environment—partnering across Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Trade Compliance, Legal, Finance, Sustainability, Digital, and Business functions.

You will define program structure, establish governance, manage interdependencies, and drive disciplined execution to ensure initiatives deliver sustainable business value and are successfully embedded into organizational operating rhythms.

Success in this role is measured by:

  • Predictable, on-time execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives

  • Successful adoption and sustainment of enterprise processes, tools, and operating models

  • Improved operational effectiveness, governance maturity, and execution consistency

  • Strong stakeholder alignment and measurable business outcomes across global initiatives

What will you do?

Program Leadership, Governance & Delivery

  • Own end-to-end delivery of complex global Procurement Enablement programs from initiation through sustainment

  • Define program structure, governance models, operating cadence, and success metrics

  • Lead integrated program planning across multiple workstreams, managing scope, dependencies, risks, and trade-offs

  • Drive execution rigor, decision discipline, and timely escalation when outcomes are at risk

  • Apply PPI / Lean Six Sigma principles to improve execution velocity, consistency, and scalability

Enterprise Initiative Execution

  • Lead execution of enterprise Procurement initiatives aligned to operational, digital, process improvement, and transformation priorities

  • Partner with Procurement and cross-functional business leaders to drive alignment, execution, and measurable business outcomes

  • Maintain clear visibility to program progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery health

  • Provide leadership with concise, fact-based insights into program performance, risks, and outcomes

  • Support implementation of scalable processes, governance standards, and operational best practices

Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence

  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Trade Compliance, Legal, Finance, and Sustainability

  • Influence priorities, commitments, and outcomes without direct authority in a highly matrixed environment

  • Facilitate decision-making where functional objectives, timelines, or constraints conflict

  • Act as an integrator between strategy owners and execution teams to ensure alignment and momentum

Tracking, Reporting & Enablement

  • Establish and maintain enterprise-level program tracking, reporting, and executive communication

  • Drive transparency on delivery health, risks, and outcomes to enable proactive leadership decisions

  • Own enablement and change management approaches to embed resiliency programs into standard operating rhythms

  • Capture and institutionalize lessons learned to continuously strengthen execution maturity

How will you get here?

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or Science (MBA preferred)

  • 7+ years of experience leading global or enterprise programs in Procurement or Supply Chain environments

  • Demonstrated success delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives with senior-level visibility

  • Hands-on practitioner experience in sourcing, supplier management, or operations strongly preferred

  • Experience in regulated, global, or highly complex operating environments preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong enterprise program leadership and governance capabilities

  • Proven ability to execute in ambiguity and drive outcomes

  • PPI / Lean Six Sigma experience (certification preferred)

  • Exceptional influencing, stakeholder management, and communication skills

  • Ability to connect execution detail to enterprise business outcomes

  • Comfortable operating independently with high accountability and visibility

  • Proficiency with MS Office and program tracking tools

  • Willingness to travel 10–30% annually
