Sr. Engineer, Quality Assurance

Job Description:

Sr. Engineer, QA is responsible for establishing quality standards and executing comprehensive suites of automation test plans and test cases. Actively participating in the evolution and execution of procedures for ensuring the quality of new features and releases of software products.

• Develops and establishes quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout their development/product lifecycles.
• Prepares and delivers reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects across the organization.
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers in assessing applications and/or systems under consideration for purchase.
• Analyzes documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality.
• Conducts internal audits to measure and assure adherence to established QA standards for software development, application integration, and information system performance, and corresponding documentation.
• Creates and executes test plans and scripts that will determine optimal application performance according to specifications. Ensures testing activities allow applications to meet business requirements and systems goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify existing or potential issues.
• Collaborates with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods.
• Communicates test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
• Tests new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications.
• Analyzes formal test results to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
• Assists in the development of change control processes, practices, and guidelines for new and existing technologies.
• Participates in developing, distributing, and coordinating in-depth end-user reviews for modified and new systems or applications.
• Converts existing manual tests to automation framework; automation frameworks like Selenium and Cucumber to automate test execution and integrate into delivery pipeline.
• Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.
   

Education Required:

• Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school), Field of Study: Computer Science or related field.
• Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
   

Experience Required:

• 5 years’ experience in software quality engineering with depth of experience working with load testing.
• 5 years’ experience in experience in web application testing and/or development.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools,
• Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required equivalent qualifications for the position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of: Industry Standard tools like tools JMeter/ LoadRunner/ Performance Centre, Understating of Dynatrace and SQL Profiler. Familiar with Dotnet, VB.net, and HTML5/CSS3 languages. Software testing best practices and methodologies in an Agile methodology using Scrum. Strong knowledge of automation frameworks and languages like UTF, Selenium, Cucumber, and Gherkin.
• Skill in: Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, technical expertise. Ability to identify and seek required information/research, communication, leadership.
• Ability to: Work in a fast-paced environment; stay organized, prioritize workload, multi-task, and meet deadlines. Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
