2024 Security Software Engineer Intern

Internship Program 

At Five9 we are committed to providing an exceptional experience for our interns.  We tailor our program to provide participants with real, impactful work, contributing directly to the continued success of Five9.  Through our Speaker Series, Intern Buddies, Employee Resource Groups, and other events, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the best in the business. 

This is a full-time, paid internship based out of our headquarters in San Ramon, CA. The program runs 12 weeks with the opportunity to start in late May or mid-June.

The Team 

The Security Software Engineer intern will be an active member of the information security team. Supporting an ongoing effort to provide end-to-end security services to our internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities 

• Building complex security testing automation with accessible APIs that make it simple for engineers to integrate with continuous integration systems.
• Ensure that security is integrated into product design by implementing secure design principles and methodologies.
• Build automation pipelines and framework to support triaging of findings from our SAST, SCA and Secrets services.

 Qualifications 

• Rising college senior or above, pursuing a degree in Computer science or related field.
• Must be able to work out of the San Ramon, CA headquarters this summer.
• Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate with remote teams, share ideas and present concepts effectively.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and SCMs.
• An understanding of API usage and REST principles.
• Interest and/or experience in object-oriented programming with Python.
• Interest and/or experience with container technologies.
• Interest and/or experience with public cloud environments (i.e. GCP, AWS).
