Internship Program 

At Five9 we are committed to providing an exceptional experience for our interns.  We tailor our program to provide participants with real, impactful work, contributing directly to the continued success of Five9.  Through our Speaker Series, Intern Buddies, Employee Resource Groups, and other events, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and learn from some of the best in the business. 

This is a full-time, paid internship based out of our headquarters in San Ramon, CA. The program runs 12 weeks with the opportunity to start in late May or mid-June.

Our Professional Services development team is seeking an Associate Software Development Engineer Intern with the possibility of conversion to a full-time role at the end of a successful internship. In this role, you will work on development projects that require gathering integration requirements, analyzing feasibility using available APIs, designing, developing, and implementing the solution.

Projects vary in size and development skillset and include HTML5 web apps, Node.js services, CRM CTI Integrations, and various web services integrations to 3^rd party systems. The role of Software Development Engineer demands general knowledge of current development technologies and a willingness to learn new systems, platforms, and APIs as necessary.

Required Skills:

• Possess strong problem solving and communication skills. Must be able to articulate an issue, identify solution options, and communicate the best course of action to the client
• A self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively; able to switch between projects/tasks.
• An understanding of cloud-based technologies (AWS, SaaS, PasS, etc.) and web-based API interfaces (SOAP, REST, AJAX, WebSockets, etc.)
• Basic proficiency in Machine learning and NLP is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Development experience in web-based applications (HTML5, JavaScript) and associated tooling such as jQuery, Backbone.js, Bootstrap, Require JS, Ext JS, Marionette, etc.
• Experience with web application hosting services such as Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or self-hosted Node.js services.
• BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience is required.
