Site Reliability Engineer II

The Role:

DailyPay is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer II to drive the reliability, availability, and performance of our critical infrastructure and services. You will collaborate closely with development, operations, and other cross-functional teams to build and maintain resilient systems. You will play a key role in implementing best practices for monitoring, alerting, and incident response, as well as driving automation and efficiency improvements. It is a unique opportunity for an SRE expert to contribute within a quickly scaling company and product primarily focusing on empowering our users and supporting their financial security.

How You Will Make an Impact:

• Collaborate with other development teams on how to build and mature their services to use shared resources provided by the infrastructure team and how to be monitorable, serviceable, and stable
• Develop and maintain tools and scripts for automation, deployment, and monitoring
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents in a timely manner, ensuring quick resolution and minimal downtime
• Conduct post-incident reviews and implement preventive measures to mitigate future incidents
• Continuously evaluate and improve processes, tools, and technologies to enhance system reliability and efficiency

What You Bring to The Team:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
• 2+ years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on site reliability engineering
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java or Go with a focus on automation and scripting
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with CI/CD build tools such as GitHub Actions
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS
• Understanding of database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL or similar
• Experience with monitoring/reporting tooling like Cloudwatch, Datadog or similar
• Experience with chaos engineering practices and tools like Chaos Monkey or similar
• Knowledge of conventional and cloud-based infrastructure, and basic networking (AWS, Azure, GCP)
