About Advertising Technology:

Ever wondered what would a convergence of online and offline advertising systems looks like? Ever wondered how we can bridge the gap between sponsored search, display, video ad formats? Ever thought how we can write our own ad servers which serve billions of requests in near real time?

Our Advertising Technology team is building an end-to-end advertising platform that is key to Walmart’s overall growth strategy. We use cutting edge machine learning, data mining and optimization algorithms to ingest, model and analyze Walmart’s proprietary online and in-store data, encompassing 95% of American households. Importantly, we build smart data systems that deliver relevant retail ads and experiences that connect our customers with the brands and products they love.

What you'll do:

• You are responsible for coding, unit testing, building high performance and scalable applications that meet the needs of millions of Walmart-International customers, in the areas of supply chain management & Customer experience.

• You are expected to be more intellectually curious engineer who is passionate about domain/technology in general.

What you'll bring:

·BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

· Experience with a variety of programming languages and frameworks such as Java or Python

 · Optional add on experience in Node.js, React.js big data technology like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Cassandra and/or Spring Boot

· Experience in bootstrap production and non-prod environments in public/private clouds

· Experience in secure, scalable and highly available online services

· Solid knowledge of Linux systems with the ability to troubleshoot issues in complex, distributed, multi-tier architectures. Excellent debugging and problem solving capability.

· Good written and verbal communication skill

· Experience collaborating with multiple teams

· Follows the industry trends in the online world

· Good knowledge of High performance Stream processing, Large Scale Messaging Systems

· Develop and maintain backend web services and APIs using a variety of programming languages and frameworks

· Proactively monitor, identify, and escalate issues or root causes of systemic issues

· Be the consummate team player with a demonstrable ability to learn quickly. amazing ability to get stuff done.

· Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech

· Work with data science team to implement data analytics pipelines

· Engage with Product Management and Business to drive the agenda, set your priorities and deliver awesome products.

· Enable data scientists, business and product partners to fully leverage our platform

· Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high-level design

· Solid foundation in data structures and algorithms
