We are looking for a Versatile, curious, and energetic Sr. Software Engineer who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale.  As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.   

The Work itself: 

We are seeking a Senior UI/UX/Full Stack Engineer to join our PPD Sales Analytics team. This team supports business stakeholders by developing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for our AI-driven applications and other analytics tools. The ideal candidate for this position has a passion for creating engaging user experiences and is experienced in front-end and back-end development.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, design, and manage user interfaces for our AI RAG chatbots and other UI applications.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand their user experience needs and provide solutions.

  • Implement security best practices to protect data and application integrity.

  • Create and manage APIs for the integration of systems and services.

  • Ensure code quality throughout all stages of development, including code reviews, testing, and refactoring.

  • Continually monitor and evaluate the performance of the applications.

  • Provide technical insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Maintain clear and coherent communication, both verbal and written, to understand project needs and report results.

  • Implement best practices in UI/UX design and full-stack development.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs. 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• Experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web design technologies.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and JavaScript object model. Understanding of types in JavaScript is a must.
• Thorough understanding and experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as Vue.js, Angular, or React.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, including its nuances and workarounds.
• Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js) and RESTful APIs. Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token, is a plus.
• Experience with full-stack technologies such as Node.js, Python, or similar technologies.
• Strong knowledge of UI/UX design principles and best practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure is good to have.
• Knowledge of data privacy and security principles.
• Ability to work in a team and independently as required.
• Proficient in using Git and other version control systems.
• Strong project management skills.
• Experience in working with APIs and integrating various systems.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into business terms.
• The candidate should be able to explain the value and implications of their work in a way that resonates with business stakeholders.
• Experience in collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• The candidate should be comfortable facilitating discussions, presenting findings, and advocating for user-centered design approaches to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to understand and align with business goals.
• The candidate should be able to work closely with stakeholders to understand their objectives and challenges, and to design UI/UX solutions that directly support business outcomes.
• Strong listening and empathy skills.
• The candidate should be able to engage in active listening, understand the perspectives and needs of stakeholders, and respond in a way that builds trust and collaboration.
• Experience in managing expectations and handling objections.
• The candidate should be able to navigate conversations when results or recommendations may not align with stakeholders' expectations or preconceived ideas, and to handle such situations in a way that maintains positive relationships and moves the conversation forward.
