Job Description Summary:

Focus, Scope, & Impact:

  • Lead US sales-facing category insights team tasked with delivering actionable insights that enable Walmart US and Sam’s Club US Sales team to meet or exceed business plan.
  • Define and oversee Global Customer Team’s Global Data Science process to ensure data management is a competitive advantage for Coca-Cola in serving Walmart Inc.

Work Focus

  • As it relates to leading the US sales-facing category insights team:
    • Own and provide analytical and sales-facing category reporting needs of Walmart US and Sam’s Club US category reviews (called “line reviews” at Walmart) to drive improved assortment and shelving recommendations on behalf of KO’s US business.
    • Lead the day-to-day data and reporting needs for the customer and bottler teams leveraging tools inclusive of Alteryx, Databricks, Azure, and Tableau.
    • Lead the annual Collaborative Business Planning process for both Walmart US and Sam’s Club US (with support from North America Operating Unit (NAOU) Data Science team)
    • Assist the Walmart US and Sam’s Club US Sales teams’ ABP development.
    • Lead the relationships with 3rd party partners supporting the Global Walmart Coca-Cola business.
  • As it relates to overseeing the Global Customer Team’s Data Science process
    • Translate Walmart-specific unstructured and structured data, (IE. Luminate, MADRID), other internal plan information, and Nielsen data, to derive actionable insights and best in class business intelligence at a Global customer level.
    • Reduce repetitive analytic tasks and build scalable business intelligence tools for sales, category management, supply chain, and System users (i.e., bottlers) across Global Customer team (representing a ~$6B in Total Retail Sales Dollars).
    • Lead development of advanced predictive analytics methods (including but not limited to AI / machine learning methods, k-nearest neighbors, etc.)

Communication Focus

  • Role requires strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to synthesize and present key data-driven strategic customer and category-level insights and analysis to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders (i.e., customer merchants, executive leadership, sales team leadership, and System partners/bottlers).

Experience:

  • 3+ years working with the customer (Walmart and/or Sam’s Club) directly.
  • 2+ years of experience working in an analytics or data science role, or equivalent; ideally with a CPG company.
  • 1+ year of team management experience.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred

Requirements:

Minimum required:

  • Exposure and experience working with customer (Walmart and/or Sam’s Club), especially as it relates to line review and/or precision assortment processes;
  • Thorough knowledge of statistics and advanced data analysis/modeling skills (e.g. significance testing, regression modeling, machine Learning, AI, etc.);
  • Experience working with big data platforms such as Hadoop, statistical programming languages, like R or Python or SAS, database querying language like SQL, HIVE to increase efficiency by improving accuracy and reducing turnaround time;
  • Expertise in data visualization tools (such as Tableau, Micro Strategy, or Power BI) to deliver output to broader business community that will help them make data-driven decisions and improve productivity;
  • Proven people leadership skills needed to manage sales-facing category advisory team and develop team’s talent and capabilities.

Preferred:

  • Exposure and experience working with CPG categories/brands.
  • Understanding and experience working with US Bottler System.
  • Understanding and experience working on The Coca Cola Company’s (KO’s) Collaborative Business Planning process or a similar/equivalent multi-year planning process with another CPG organization.
  • Strong business acumen and presentation skills.

Pay Range:

$181,000 - $213,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
