A Partner Engineer - Audio and ECNR - Automotive is a skilled software engineer who collaborates with automotive customers/partners to enable the seamless integration of our voice AI with a focus on the audio pipeline and frontend, including Echo Cancellation. He or she owns the alignment of partner requirements with the delivered software, help identify integration risks/friction points, and support voice AI platform enhancements.​
The role requires strong software and audio engineering skills (including knowledge of key programming languages and concepts, design methodologies, etc.) to adapt to partner needs, plus exceptional communication skills for engaging partners to resolve roadblocks, align timelines, and gather feedback.​
This engineer manages multiple focused concurrent projects, using reliable time management and prioritization to balance partner deliverables and internal milestones, while collaborating cross-functionally.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with top automakers to integrate SoundHound’s Voice AI into vehicles.
  • Provide expertise in audio frontend and its integration in the car.
  • Act as a go-to expert on SoundHound’s Voice AI and Generative AI technology stack, guiding partners with your deep technical knowledge.​
  • Troubleshoot: gather data, replicate/resolve/escalate issues, test solutions for timely success.​
  • File detailed tickets, escalate issues to engineering, and contribute to the refinement of our products.
  • Own all technical aspects of the partner project, translating business needs into specs and leveraging your expertise in SoundHound’s Voice AI and Generative AI technologies.
  • Grow partnerships iteratively: add value while aligning with engineering to enhance the platform.​
  • Design and implement long-term and short-term solutions to meet business goals.​
  • Coordinate effectively with the engineering teams building advanced voice assistants.​
  • Build and maintain project plans, aligning partner milestones with internal product timelines.​
  • Write detailed documentation and oversee the entire project scope, schedule and deployment.
  • Identify, mitigate, and resolve risks to ensure project success.​
  • Foster a collaborative international work environment, where integrating diverse perspectives is crucial.
  • You will act as the primary technical point of contact for our Automotive partners, and are expected to provide expert-level support and guidance in handling complex issues and requirements related to integrating our voice AI solutions.
  • You will build strong relationship with the partners, and act as the main go-to person when Automotive partners have questions about our products or have trouble integrating our solution. You will be an expert in a large number of subjects, ranging from new ASR language developments, wake words, audio processing pipelines, our cloud domains, infrastructure issues, etc.
  • You will have the first responsibility to investigate and troubleshoot issues using our tools and provide the necessary fixes on the partner side, if possible, and if needed, escalate issues to the engineering team with your initial detailed analysis, as well as providing concrete and actionable feedback.
  • You will work closely with Technical Program Management (TPM), Engineering, and Product teams to work on system improvements, feature requests, and inform about emerging customer needs

What You'll Bring

  • You have 5+ years of experience in software engineering or technical program management, and a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • You have a proven experience in audio capture or signal processing.
  • Your experience in software engineering includes Linux, Python, C++, ASR as well as knowledge of AI technologies.
  • You have demonstrated an ability to lead cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, managing complex projects in a dynamic, international environment.
