Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our cloud engineering team in Bangalore, India. This role focuses on system automation, configuration management, patching, and security hardening across cloud environments, with GCP as primary and Azure as secondary.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Linux systems administration background and be proficient in Ansible-based automation, Python, and shell scripting, operating at scale in enterprise cloud environments.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement system automation and configuration management using Ansible
  • Build and maintain standardized OS configurations, golden images, and baseline builds in cloud environments
  • Implement and operate patch management processes for Linux systems to meet compliance and security requirements
  • Perform system and VM hardening aligned to enterprise security standards
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of cloud compute resources (GCP/Azure)
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (Python, Bash) for operational tasks
  • Manage and enforce secure configurations, IAM controls, and access policies
  • Integrate system configuration workflows with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve OS, configuration, and security issues
  • Ensure systems meet security, compliance, and audit standards
  • Collaborate with cloud and security teams; mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 7–10+ years of total experience, including 5–7 years in cloud or infrastructure engineering
  • Strong background in Linux system administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, etc.)
  • Proven experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation
  • Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash/Shell
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience with containers and Kubernetes (e.g., GKE, AKS, EKS)
  • Experience with system patching, OS lifecycle management, and security hardening
  • Experience with at least 2 of the 3 major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, and compliance requirements
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Windows systems and PowerShell scripting
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and VM security best practices
  • Relevant certifications (GCP, AWS, Azure, Linux, or security-focused)
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
