We are looking for an Engineering Manager (f/m/d) who leads and mentors teams, drives product delivery, and ensures scalable, high-quality software solutions. Your main tasks will be:
- Lead and mentor multiple teams of software engineers groups to independently deliver high-quality product increments solutions
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to guide and coordinate continuous product discovery and delivery with high integrity commitments
- Drive the vision of your teams to give them purpose, direction & clarity, enable effective decision making as well as foster alignment with business objectives
- Help to architect and design scalable and maintainable software solutions
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Coordinate with other teams to integrate software components and ensure seamless functionality
- Provide guidance and support to team members as needed
Leadership
- 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in team leadership, of which some of this leadership experience is at the 2nd line level
- Deep understanding of lean & agile software development methodologies and best practices
- Effective communication and leadership abilities
- Experience in working in high growth environments, including structural and organisational transformations
- Leading cross team initiatives by fostering alignment, managing stakeholders and holding people accountable
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring top talent.
- Experience coaching teams and lead developers to foster growth and continuous improvement.
- Experience in designing and implementing scalable distributed systems
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- 7-10 years of overall experience in software development, especially using JVM languages (Kotlin preferred)
- Experience tracking and improving performance using DORA and similar metrics
Bonus points for
- Knowledge of cloud technologies such as GCP or AWS
- Contribution to open-source projects or technical communities
- Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment pipelines
- Extensive insights into the Spring Framework, its internals and modules like Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security and its inner workings with other parts of the framework
- Experience with frontend frameworks (Angular 2+, CSS/SASS, Typescript, etc.)
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, such as Postgres, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, or Neo4J.
