Software Test Engineer - Flight Software (QA & QC)

Pixxel is a space data company building a health monitor for our planet. We are doing that by deploying a constellation of some of the world’s most advanced earth imaging satellites in lower earth orbit and an analytics platform (on ground) with tools that enable easy application of this data across a multitude of sectors. Our fully deployed hyperspectral imaging constellation will be capable of beaming down high-quality imagery of every place on earth every day. 

This role will contribute towards defining and executing test cases based on system requirements for embedded flight software running on our Satellite platform.

Responsibilities

• Own flight software QA and QC
• Analyze system requirements with developers and arrive at a test strategy
• Create test plans, test specifications and execute them using manual or automated tests.
• Document, track, and drive bugs to closure based on Pixxel defined process
• Analyze and submit test reports
• Evaluate test tools and improve test efficiency
• Support with debugging and root cause analysis of defects

Basic Qualification

• B.Tech / B.E
• 2 years of relevant experience
• iSTQB certification (preferred)

Required Skills

• Work experience in testing firmware / embedded software
• Skillful in deriving test cases and coming up with a test strategy
• Good knowledge in scripting using Python/MATLAB/Shell scripting
• Working experience in any automated test framework
• Software development lifecycle experience
• Tools
  • Git and Version control (with Gitlab/Github)
  • Jira
• Knowledge or experience in any of the following would be a plus
