About Pixxel

Pixxel is a space data company building a health monitor for our planet. We are deploying a constellation of some of the world’s most advanced earth imaging satellites in lower earth orbit and an analytics platform (on the ground) with tools that enable easy application of this data across many sectors. Our fully deployed hyperspectral imaging constellation will be capable of beaming down high-quality imagery of every place on Earth daily.

Responsibilities
● Maintain our infrastructure by automating software deployment, infrastructure configuration, and
   database cluster management and tuning
● Build and deployment pipeline design and implementation, maintain infrastructure as code in
    terraform or other similar technologies
● Expand our continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines and orchestration
    tooling
● You will influence and design infrastructure, architecture, standards and methods for large-scale
    systems
● Working in an Agile, collaborative environment to deploy, configure, and maintain systems, which
   may include software installations, updates, and core services
● Maintaining the reliability, stability, and efficiency of the platform, including being an active
    participant in incident response and incident management
● Using object-oriented programming languages and tools to deliver a range of solutions
● Participating in the analysis of system and business requirements to provide hands-on solutions
    to meet or exceed our customers’ expectations.
● Communicating with the product management and development teams to raise issues and
    identify potential barriers in a timely fashion.
● Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward,
   getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve
● Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large distributed software
    applications
● Design and implement cross tool integrations

Basic Qualifications
● Minimum 3+ years of industry experience working hands-on with technical software development
    projects for cloud systems.
● Fluency in working with Python, SQL, Postgres and CI/CD tools with a taste for knowledge of
    deploying cloud applications in public cloud environments.
● Experience in Container Orchestration, Container technologies, Docker, Cloud formations.

Required Skills
● Experience in administration of both on premise and public cloud environments like Azure, AWS &
   GCP
● Object Oriented programming experience in at least one of the following languages: Python or GO.
● Experience in CI/CD, Kubernetes, Database experience or setting up big data pipelines.
● Familiar with Unix/Linux operating systems
● Configuration Management~ Experience with Terraform or Ansible
● Experience in debugging and automating routine tasks
● Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in Computer Science or related fields, with at least 3 years
  of related work experience
● Experience working with Unix Linux systems from kernel to shell and beyond
● Familiar with system operation skills in Linux and network
● Prometheus, Nagios, Sensu observability is imperative to success.
● Understanding of the product development lifecycle
