Position Overview

We are looking for a Project Manager to strengthen our Product team’s operations - enabling us to efficiently specify and ship new, innovative products and features to deliver on Piano’s vision and strategic ambitions. In this role, you will serve as a close collaborator with senior product leadership by managing large-scale, strategic projects. This role will report to Senior Director, Product.  

Responsibilities include: 

• End-to-end ownership of project management for assigned initiatives. 
• Own the creation of project plans, including risks, milestones, task breakdowns, and delivery timelines. 
• Oversee project communication channels to ensure internal and external stakeholders are kept accurately and consistently informed.  
• Continuously manage project execution, including facilitating continuous communication and collaboration between workstreams, document decisions, flag risks or program challenges to product leadership, and ensure the overall project is delivered in a timely manner. 
• Business Analytics - analyzing and documenting client business processes with product team and clients to inform the product projects. 
• Represent Piano in client project meetings to provide project statuses and updates, and to track and follow up on identified tasks required of the client and of our product team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 
• Fluency in both German and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages. 
• 4+ years experience as a SaaS project manager, program manager or similar, where methodologies within Agile development, Waterfall, RAD etc. is familiar territory 
• Experience with project management tools is a must (e.g., resource allocation/staffing, Gantt charting, JIRA/engineering ticketing systems) 
• Ability to adopt the customer’s perspective when defining new initiatives and product features. Ability to recognize the bigger picture related to a customer need, including technical, functional, process, and policy considerations, and to creatively identify solutions taking these considerations into account.  

• Experience analyzing and defining business processes with the help of common frameworks like BPMN is a plus. 

• Experience with product feature delivery end to end, from concept formulation through launch.  
• Experience working directly with a wide variety of stakeholders, including clients, senior leadership, designers, and software developers. 

• Experience working with globally distributed teams is a plus.
