Data Center Infrastructure Engineer (Project Lead)
Location: Remote
Compensation: $5,000 – $7,000 USD per month
We are seeking a Data Center Infrastructure Engineer (Project Lead) to lead the design and technical execution of next-generation data center developments.
This individual will play a central role in shaping how large-scale infrastructure is designed, deployed, and scaled across key markets, with environments engineered to support high-density compute workloads and future growth.
This role is focused on the infrastructure that is developed and delivered, not on land acquisition or monetization strategies. The ideal candidate brings a combination of deep engineering expertise, real-world project delivery experience, and a forward-looking perspective on data center infrastructure, power systems, and thermal management.
Design & Project Leadership
- Lead end-to-end design and execution of large-scale data center campuses (50MW–100MW)
- Establish and refine design standards across electrical, mechanical, and site infrastructure
- Develop modular, repeatable design frameworks to accelerate deployment timelines
- Design infrastructure anchored by utility-scale grid power availability
- Architect efficient power distribution systems, including:
- Medium and high-voltage distribution
- Reduced conversion architectures
- Scalable redundancy strategies (N+1, 2N, etc.)
- Coordinate closely with utilities on load delivery, interconnection, and phasing
- Design environments capable of supporting:
- 75kW–150kW per rack, with a path toward 300kW+ per rack and beyond
- GPU-intensive and AI workloads
- Lead integration of:
- Direct-to-chip liquid cooling
- CDU-based architectures
- Advanced thermal management strategies
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies, including:
- Liquid and immersion cooling
- Advanced electrical topologies
- Grid-interactive design strategies
- Identify opportunities to:
- Reduce cost per MW
- Increase speed to market
- Improve operational efficiency
- Collaborate with:
- Development and investment teams
- External MEP engineers and consultants
- Utilities and infrastructure providers
- OEMs and technology partners
- Translate customer and market requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions
- Oversee project execution from concept through commissioning
- Ensure alignment with:
- Budget targets
- Development timelines
- Long-term operational performance
Core Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5–10+ years of experience in mission-critical or data center infrastructure projects
- Proven experience delivering data center projects of 10MW+, preferably 50MW+ environments
- Deep expertise in:
- Power distribution systems
- Redundancy design
- Cooling systems (air and liquid-based)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred
- Experience with:
- High-density or AI/HPC environments
- Liquid cooling systems and CDU architectures
- Utility interconnection and large-load power strategies
- Familiarity with modular construction and prefabrication
This role is best suited for individuals who:
- Have successfully delivered large-scale infrastructure projects, not just designed them
- Have experience operating in high-density compute environments (75kW+ per rack)
- Thrive in fast-moving, execution-driven environments
- Think in terms of integrated systems (power, cooling, and compute)
- Are motivated to challenge traditional data center design approaches
- Can operate at both:
- Strategic level (design standards, planning)
- Technical level (detailed system architecture and execution)
- Opportunity to help define next-generation AI-ready data center infrastructure
- Direct involvement in platform-level design and development strategy
- Exposure to large-scale power infrastructure and planning
- Ability to influence how and where data centers are built
- Work alongside high-performing, execution-focused teams
- This role is remote
- Availability to coordinate with international teams is required
This is a remote/telecommute position.
