What you will do

The role is responsible for driving sustainable and profitable growth across the Cards and Lending portfolios through disciplined portfolio management, risk-return optimization and capital efficiency.

The role will lead portfolio initiatives to expand credit risk boundaries, improve portfolio profitability and optimize portfolio returns, while ensuring resilient portfolio performance across economic cycles. Working closely with Credit Risk, Analytics, Finance and Collections teams, the role will use data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities, evaluate portfolio performance and drive actions that improve long-term portfolio returns.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sustainable and profitable growth across the Cards and Lending portfolios by optimizing the balance between growth, risk, profitability and capital efficiency.
  • Lead and manage test-and-learn programs designed to responsibly expand credit risk boundaries, including underwriting, pricing, line assignment, customer segmentation and portfolio management strategies.
  • Evaluate business cases for portfolio initiatives and make recommendations based on risk-adjusted returns, customer outcomes and long-term portfolio performance.
  • Own portfolio risk-return performance by monitoring key metrics including revenue, profitability, cost of risk, credit losses, customer lifetime value, ROA and RoRWA.
  • Monitor portfolio performance at customer, cohort and vintage levels, identifying emerging risks, performance trends and opportunities to improve long-term profitability.
  • Partner with Credit Risk, Analytics and Finance teams to develop and implement portfolio strategies that improve portfolio economics and support business growth objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve capital deployment and Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) efficiency, ensuring optimal use of capital across Cards and Lending portfolios.
  • Act as the primary business point of contact for stress testing exercises, including the development of business assumptions, interpretation of results and identification of mitigating actions.
  • Monitor collections performance and portfolio health through key indicators such as delinquency rates, roll rates, cure rates, recoveries and net credit losses, ensuring collections outcomes support overall portfolio profitability.
  • Partner with Collections and Credit Risk teams to identify opportunities to improve portfolio performance across the customer lifecycle and incorporate learnings into future acquisition and portfolio strategies.
  • Develop portfolio dashboards, management reports and performance reviews to provide timely insights into portfolio performance, emerging risks and strategic opportunities.
  • Present portfolio performance, recommendations and key business insights to senior management and governance forums to support effective decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in Credit Cards, Unsecured Lending, Portfolio Management, Risk Strategy, Product Management or Retail Banking.
  • Strong understanding of consumer lending economics, credit risk, collections and portfolio profitability.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, develop business cases and translate insights into commercial actions.
  • Experience managing portfolio performance, profitability or risk-return frameworks is preferred.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data analytics and management reporting tools is an advantage.
