Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Snowflake and dbt to design, build, and optimize scalable cloud data solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing ELT pipelines, dimensional/data modeling, SQL optimization, and implementing reliable data transformation frameworks using dbt. The role requires close collaboration with data engineering, analytics, and business teams to deliver high-quality, governed, and performant data products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models using Snowflake and dbt.
• Build reusable and maintainable dbt models, macros, tests, snapshots, and incremental models.
• Develop complex SQL transformations and optimize Snowflake queries for performance and cost.
• Design data models following dimensional modeling and modern data warehouse best practices.
• Implement automated data-quality checks, testing, documentation, and lineage using dbt.
• Work with Snowflake features including warehouses, databases/schemas, stages, streams/tasks, roles, and access controls.
• Troubleshoot data pipeline failures, performance issues, and data-quality problems.
• Participate in code reviews and establish engineering standards for SQL and dbt development.
• Collaborate with upstream/downstream teams to understand data requirements and deliver reliable datasets.
• Support CI/CD and automated deployment processes for dbt projects across environments.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Data Build Tool).
• Advanced SQL and strong understanding of query optimization.
• Experience designing and implementing ELT/data transformation pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, fact/dimension tables, and SCD concepts.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD development practices.
• Experience implementing data quality, testing, monitoring, and documentation.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Python for data engineering and automation.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with dbt Cloud, including jobs, environments, deployments, and CI.
• Familiarity with Snowflake security, RBAC, performance tuning, and cost optimization.

Ideal Experience: 5+ years in Data Engineering, including significant hands-on experience with Snowflake and dbt.
