Jones Lang LaSalle, an international commercial real estate firm, is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence & Analytics Specialist Sr. Administrator to support JLL Enterprise BI environment. The JLL Enterprise BI environment consists primarily of Power BI Global tenants, Tableau (Azure and on premises), and SSRS. The Enterprise BI Administrator should have experience managing existing on-premises as well as existing/new Microsoft Cloud hosted applications like Power BI, Azure Active Directory, SSRS, Tableau Role based and on-prem environment.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to operate in a technically complex, fast-changing, and diverse environment.

Responsibilities

 

• Govern environments by setting up Audit logs, data source connections & gateway connections.
• Managing data access, auditing logs, information protection (sensitivity labels), and monitoring user activities 
• Tenant Settings Configuring organization-wide settings, such as enabling/disabling "Publish to Web," AI visuals, or custom visuals. Workspace Administration: Creating, deleting, and assigning administrators to workspaces. 
• Licensing & Subscription Managing user licenses
• Monitor and troubleshoot data source connectivity issues, and performance bottlenecks. 
• Perform Server administration. 
• Manage Infrastructure like application serves, databases, application services, Managed Metadata.
• Assist with migration projects SSRS data source migrating from SQL warehouse to Databricks.
• Manage Infrastructure OS and Application upgrade to maintain the security posture
• Manage patching activities for vulnerability management.
• Support Enterprise BI environment and Operational projects.
• Environment load balance year assessment to maintain performance SLA
• Manage work tickets for SSRS report modification and underlaying SQL code.
• Troubleshoot user issues, work with security teams to run audit, from Audit logs and Tableau Postgres.
• Develop and execute PowerShell / Python scripts for administering and automating tasks.
• Assist development teams to deploy production ready solutions connecting BI environments supported in JLL. The resource should be available for On-Call rotational weekend support.
• Conduct access audits as well Disaster recovery exercises.
• Support custom solutions built on Tableau, SSRS on-premises provider hosted as well as Azure hosted.
• Work closely with internal business units to facilitate project completion.
• Interface with software vendors and suppliers in support of business application software packages.
• Communicate with managers on business systems and project statuses.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to manage business and technology relationships with internal and external clients.

 

• Serve as the lead administrator for enterprise BI platforms, including Power BI, Tableau, and SSRS, providing strategic guidance and platform stewardship.
• Lead and coordinate the migration of SSRS reports and infrastructure from SQL Server to Databricks, ensuring seamless transition, data integrity, and business continuity.
• Design, implement, and support BI platforms across both on-premises and cloud environments, including Azure-based server deployments and integrations.
• Develop and execute strategies for operating system upgrades, including migrating environments from Windows Server 2016 to Windows Server 2022 and ensuring all applications are updated to the latest supported versions.
• Design and implement governance policies covering audit logs, data source and gateway connections, and information protection (sensitivity labels) for BI environments.
• Direct tenant-wide configuration management, including workspace administration, license provisioning, and organizational settings (e.g., publishing permissions, AI visuals).
• Architect and enforce data security and compliance protocols, performing regular access reviews and audit log analysis.
• Automate migration processes and system management tasks using PowerShell, Python, and available APIs.
• Monitor and optimize BI platform performance, proactively identifying and resolving connectivity, resource, or user activity bottlenecks.
• Oversee performance optimization, security configurations, and compliance for BI solutions during platform migrations and upgrades.
• Interface with software vendors and suppliers for escalated support cases, product enhancements, and roadmap discussions; manage upgrade/migration risks and ensure successful project delivery.
• Communicate platform status, incidents, and project progress to business and technology leadership.
• Foster collaborative relationships with internal users, project teams, and external partners to support business intelligence adoption and drive business value.
• Mentor junior administrators and business units, establishing best practices and providing training for BI platform features, Databricks, and Azure-based BI platforms.
• Maintain platform documentation, migration runbooks, and upgrade reports for operational transparency and audit readiness.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, enhance automation, and adopt emerging best practices within the organization.

Experience & Education

• At least 8-10 years working experience of which 5+ years working experience on BI Analytics.
• Having a Bachelors/Master’s degree in Computer Science/Information Systems from a reputed University
• Strong computer science fundamentals.

 

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Extensive, hands-on experience administering Tableau (Azure and on-premises) and Power BI in large enterprise environments, including SSRS.
• Strong working knowledge of Power Query (M language) for data transformation, modeling, and troubleshooting refresh/authentication issues in Power BI and Excel-based reporting.
• Advanced scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, and/or SQL) for automating BI platform administration, data refresh, monitoring, and deployment tasks.
• Deep understanding of authentication, authorization, and role-based access controls specific to Power BI and Tableau, including M365 and SSRS integration.
• Strong hands-on skills in the administration of BI platforms (Power BI, SSRS, Tableau) across on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation for migration, deployment, and administration tasks (PowerShell, Python).
• Advanced skills in PowerShell and Python scripting for automating BI platform tasks, monitoring, and integration.
• Strong expertise in tenant configuration, workspace administration, licensing management, and audit/compliance reporting.
• Proven ability with BI platform migrations, upgrades, and integration of cross-platform solutions, including REST/Graph APIs.
• Advanced knowledge of hybrid infrastructure, on-prem/server management, and Azure integration.
• Experience with SharePoint integration, Tableau Postgres, SSRS underlying database, and monitoring BI service health.
• Expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and compliance management during large-scale platform changes.
• Experience with AI-driven analytics features within BI platforms, such as Power BI's AI visuals, natural language querying, and automated insights generation for business stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
