About the opportunity:

At Jerry, we are building the first AllCar™ super app to help people optimize all aspects of owning a car, an essential expense that costs the average person more than 20% of their income every year. We started with insurance in 2019, and since then we’ve launched loan refinancing, real-time driving insights, car diagnostics, repair marketplace, and a GPT-4 chatbot.

We have aggressive goals to scale our business and grow from 5M to 50M users by 2030, and we need a Technical Lead/Manager to lead our small and mighty organic user growth team! You will be the main creator for a powerful backend system and site architecture that will support our ability to dominate search engines, publish mass amounts of articles, and drive our organic traffic. With your guidance, we can reach customers all over the United States and make Jerry a household name. Optimization and speed are your domains, and you will stop at nothing to ensure that code quality across our product is exemplary. What you'll do:

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers to help them excel in their roles by continuously providing guidance and feedback

• Proactively resolve or mitigate technical gaps that may negatively impact our SEO metrics like crawlability, site speed, etc.

• Collaborate with PMs, designers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to ensure best SEO practices and optimize for performance and speed

• Be the gatekeeper for code quality by ensuring scalability, readability, and performance

• Foster a culture of continuous learning and growth by sharing knowledge and ideas

Who you are:

• BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, engineering, or a related field

• 5+ years of experience in software development and 1.5+ years of experience in people management (preferred)

• Hold an exceptionally high bar for code efficiency and quality

• Have a strong sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability

Our technical stack:

• Language and frameworks: Typescript: Nest.js, Next.js, React, React Native, Expo

• API: GraphQL

• DB: Postgres, DynamoDB, Clickhouse, Redis

• Infrastructure: Built on AWS, microservice architecture with containerized services deployed on ECS and EKS. Asynchronous processing functions running on Lambda.
