We are on a mission to disrupt the car ownership experience and help people who rely on their vehicles everyday save time and money on one of their most expensive, time-consuming and high-maintenance assets. Jerry is looking for a seasoned engineering leader who is passionate about building high performance engineering teams to join us as our VP of Engineering. Reporting directly to our co-founder/CTO, you will be responsible for attracting and engaging high quality talent, and ensuring a high bar of execution for the engineering org of 70+ team members. You will create a team culture of amplifying Jerry’s values of excellence, ownership, and urgency. What you'll do:

• Directly supervise engineering team leads. You will be responsible for high quality and high velocity execution of the engineering org.

• Anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges.

• Unblocking and pushing the team to hit deadlines.

• Identifying, evaluating, and optimizing processes to maximize efficiency.

• Foster a collaborative, ambitious, and outcome-driven culture.

• Partner with our People team to attract and engage top talent.

• Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members.

• Facilitate and collaborate with cross functional partners including product, design, data science, marketing and operations.

Who you are:

• You have experience leading a high-performance engineering team.

• You have overseen an engineering org of 50+.

• You have software development experience scaling a consumer-facing product (mobile or web)

• You have a strong sense of urgency to deliver results and inspire the team to achieve beyond what they think is possible.

• You have a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

• You are enthusiastic about diving into the code and getting your hands dirty when needed.

• You have strong technical mastery in software engineering but remain curious and committed to learning and improving your craft

Our technical stack:

• Language and frameworks: Typescript: Nest.js, Next.js, React, React Native, Expo

• API: GraphQL

• DB: Postgres, DynamoDB, Clickhouse, Redis

• Infrastructure: Built on AWS, microservice architecture with containerized services deployed on ECS and EKS. Asynchronous processing functions running on Lambda.
