Job Summary 

JCS Solutions is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the National Military Command Center (NMCC) by providing cybersecurity and security engineering services across mission-critical environments. The successful candidate will perform system security engineering, cybersecurity risk assessments, security architecture support, and technical security evaluations to identify vulnerabilities, ensure compliance with cybersecurity standards, and recommend effective mitigation strategies. This role requires expertise in HBSS, ACAS, vulnerability management, system hardening, and security operations within highly secure government environments.

What you will do: 

• Provide cybersecurity and security engineering support for the National Military Command Center (NMCC).
• Perform technical security assessments of computing environments to identify vulnerabilities, non-compliance, and cybersecurity risks.
• Develop recommendations and mitigation strategies to address identified security findings.
• Build, deploy, maintain, and patch HBSS Windows servers and ACAS Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.9 and 8 servers.
• Build, maintain, secure, and patch McAfee ePO, Tenable Security Center, and Nessus infrastructure.
• Administer Security Center accounts for Vulnerability Managers and support enterprise vulnerability scanning operations.
• Analyze ACAS scan results and implement remediation activities for identified vulnerabilities.
• Manage the process for obtaining licenses for HBSS ePO environments and Tenable Security Centers.
• Obtain and manage HBSS and ACAS kickstart ISOs from DISA.
• Build and maintain virtual server environments supporting cybersecurity tools and services.
• Deploy and patch McAfee modules through ePO and configure security policies across multiple environments.
• Implement and maintain DISA STIG compliance for Windows operating systems, McAfee policies, and ACAS RHEL servers.
• Execute SCAP scans on Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.
• Maintain Red Hat package repositories and support offline patching of ACAS servers.
• Deploy and manage rogue detection sensors, identify rogue subnets and endpoints, and coordinate remediation efforts.
• Troubleshoot Security Center, Nessus scanner, HBSS, and related cybersecurity platform issues.
• Lead the development of technical solutions from requirements refinement through design, build, testing, and deployment activities.
• Document technical analyses, security findings, and recommended courses of action for stakeholders. 

What you will bring:

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.
• Security+ certification.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or Master's degree in a related discipline and 3 years of relevant experience; or No degree and 12 years of intensive, progressive experience demonstrating equivalent proficiency. 
• Minimum of 5 years of systems engineering experience. 
• Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting information systems security, security engineering, or related cybersecurity functions. 
• Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, system design, and architecture. 
• Experience identifying security risks across operating systems, hardware platforms, network architectures, and data transfer protocols. 
• Experience with HBSS, ACAS, ePO, Nessus, Security Center, vulnerability management, and system hardening. 
• Knowledge of cybersecurity risk assessment methodologies and security compliance frameworks. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information effectively. 
• Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills. 
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in solving complex technical challenges.

At JCS Solutions, compensation is based on a number of factors such as location, qualifications, and applicable contract terms. The general salary range for this position is as follows: $68,000.00 - $101,000.00
