Mechatronics Test Engineer, Hardware Verification and Validation

Overview

Inabia is seeking a Mechatronics Test Engineer, Hardware Verification and Validation to lead the creation and execution of test programs, plans, and methods for subsystem and complete system verification and validation in support of new technology and product development programs. This role is central to robotics and automation initiatives, encompassing test bench design and operation, instrumentation selection, data processing, and engineering reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in high-ambiguity environments and translating raw measurement data into actionable engineering insights that drive design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Identify proper test plans and equipment needed based on program development stages
• Design, commission, and operate test benches for robotic systems including actuators, batteries, sensors, and cameras
• Perform complete system verification and validation testing to ensure successful development of new technologies and products in robotics and automation
• Process and analyze test data to determine performance metrics
• Create test reports that compare results against specifications and feed findings back into the design cycle
• Support new technology and product development programs throughout the development lifecycle
• Collaborate with engineers across various disciplines to align test execution with design and program goals

Key Qualifications

• Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
• Experience developing test strategies and plans for complex hardware/software systems or systems of systems
• Demonstrated experience in test development within a high-ambiguity environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent field
• Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
• Experience with the project management of technical projects
• Experience in selecting, sourcing, and setting up lab equipment from third-party vendors
