Automation Engineer

Location: CHIHUAHUA CENTRO, CHIHUAHUA, Mexico

• The position applies expertise in industrial controls, automation software, and system integration, including Power BI, LabVIEW, Visual Studio, Allen-Bradley, and Siemens platforms. Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Knowledge of GTAW and GMAW welding processes is considered a plus.
• leads automation projects, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and utilizes structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions. Strong project management, technical expertise, and collaboration skills are essential to achieving manufacturing and business objectives.

• Assure that the products are manufactured according to spec on designs established by corporate offices in U.S.A. by the correct interpretation of product drawings, norms, standards or established codes.

• Promote modern manufacturing systems that ensure a competitive advantage.

• Develop the technicians members of the team as well as certifying the operators on the different manufacturing areas

• Maintain communication and information exchange with the different departments involved personnel(local or worldwide personnel as required), during processes changes or implementation of new processes/product/equipment are done.

• Lead the implementation of lean manufacturing: such as 5S, layout changes, POKA YOKE implementation, improvement on BOM’s and routings.

• Develop and improvement of calibration routines for equipment and tooling on processes owned by the engineer with support from the maitenanceand/or quality engineer.

• Evaluate, improve and maintain safety and ergonomic conditions of his/her owned processes.

• Coordinate time studies, capacity analysis and manufacturing cell design.

• Budget, evaluate, select and purchase of new tools and equipment, as well as coordinate validation and instalation of the mentioned before following the already established procedures.

• Identify and correct complex failures on manufacturing processes. Provide disposition to non conforming material.
