We are currently seeking a dynamic Systems Engineer to support our Public Sector team, with a specific focus on PAC/Defence customers operating in highly sensitive and mission‑critical environments.

As a Systems Engineer – Public Sector (PAC/Defence), you will:

• Lead all technical aspects of the sales cycle for Defence, national security, and government‑aligned organisations, including responding to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs.
• Manage and coordinate Proof of Concept (PoC) activities, ensuring alignment with strict security, accreditation, and operational requirements common in Defence and classified environments.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for PAC/Defence customers and partners, working closely with your sales counterpart to support account strategy and mission outcomes.
• Develop a deep understanding of customer requirements, including secure communications, classified networks, cross‑domain solutions, and compliance frameworks relevant to Defence and national security.
• Architect solutions that demonstrate Fortinet’s value in high‑assurance, high‑availability, and highly regulated environments, differentiating us in competitive and sensitive procurement cycles.
• Confidently present Fortinet’s solutions in customer meetings, whiteboarding sessions, technical deep dives, and documentation tailored to Defence and government stakeholders.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Fortinet products and solutions, as well as the evolving threat landscape, adversary tactics, and technology trends impacting Defence and national security missions.
• Effectively manage multiple projects and priorities while delivering a consistently positive experience to customers with operational and mission‑critical needs.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of customer and opportunity data in Salesforce.

We Are Looking For:

• Strong technical aptitude in cybersecurity technologies such as encryption, authentication, network security, intrusion detection, anti‑virus, routing, switching, and LAN/WAN.
• Experience in a pre‑sales engineering role, ideally supporting Defence, national security, government, or other regulated sectors.
• Understanding of secure architectures, classified environments, air‑gapped networks, or Defence‑specific security requirements is a strong advantage.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to demonstrate how you have contributed to key wins in complex or competitive technical engagements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical Defence stakeholders.
• Knowledge of industry certifications such as CISSP is a plus; Defence‑specific or high‑assurance certifications are advantageous.
