Senior Software Engineer - Frontend Engineer - SDK's

About the role

Flex is looking for a Senior Software Engineer that will be responsible for the development of our core user experience across the web on our partner’s sites.

In this role you will be joining our frontend team, working closely with experienced engineers as well as product managers and designers to deliver world-class SDK’s to our partners. You’ll be developing, designing, testing, and scaling new product offerings that solve complex problems in a simple way for all of our users. 

In this role, you can expect to be working closely with other cross functional partners across our organization on a daily basis. Our team works in an agile manner, and some of the partners you can expect to work with in this role include designers, product managers, and quality engineers. We expect you to be able to be hands-on and execute on work as both an individual, while also building products that allow for flexibility as we evolve our product offerings.

What you’ll do

• You’ll work closely with your product, design and engineering peers to solve our users' most pressing problems around rent payment. 
• You’ll roll out changes to our customers in an agile manner with a delivery cadence that favors small, frequent iterations.
• You’ll be hands-on as an individual contributor, while also providing technical leadership and mentoring junior engineers.
• The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading scoping, design and implementation for APIs they build and can drive their production rollouts to completion with minimum oversight.

Key qualifications

• Strong computer science fundamentals 
• Experience building scalable frontend infrastructure, SDK’s, and API’s
• A strong focus on building high quality and delightful UI’s and experiences
• Ability to write code that is accessible and compatible to our users devices
• Experience with various architectures and tools within the React ecosystems (Hooks, Components, Context, Redux).
• Experience leading and delivering products at a large scale without performance bottlenecks (hundreds of thousands to millions of users)
• Write maintainable code that uses industry best practices to improve the entire software development life cycle, such as: unit testing, linting, automation.
• Ability to write well-documented and testable TypeScript code
• Familiarity with REST API’s and tooling across web architectures

The national pay range for this role is $161,000-$240,000 annually. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience aligned with Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
