Position Summary
The Product Analytics team at Aetna, a CVS Health company, engages with a number of functional teams across CVS businesses to serve our members with better insurance products and to support our Sales teams in selling the right product to the right customer.
Lead Decision Scientists play an instrumental role in building cross-functional coalitions, defining product roadmaps that drive forward the most impact and engage with our Data Science team to deliver the appropriate business solutions.
Lead Decision Scientists structure ambiguous business problems into analytics frameworks, translate data insights into recommendations for business decisions, guide the evaluation of the business impact for those decisions and prioritize possible actions based on value, feasibility and risk.
To be successful in the role, Lead Decision Scientists need to excel in stakeholder management, consult with multiple business functions, recommend data-driven decisions to grow the business impact and ultimately deliver the solutions built by our Data Science team into the hands of our stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will:
- Apply experience from strategy consulting, and analytics to successfully act as the product owner for multiple analytics initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong ability to communicate both technical concepts and implications to business partners, and business drivers to data-science partners.
- Be regarded as a business specialist with deep content specific knowledge.
- Translate business questions into analytics frameworks using the language of Data Scientists.
- Present the business recommendations in executive-ready stories with concise recommendations and influence senior leaders
- Identify delivery risks and apply a solid project management framework
- Anticipate and prevent problems and roadblocks autonomously before they occur
- Demonstrate a high level of ownership for business problems, roadmap prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and impact measurement
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of business experience leading mid-scale initiatives with track record of business impact
- 7+ years total business experience
- 2+ years of stakeholder management experience
- 4+ years of experience with strategy consulting or on strategy teams in large companies
- Ability to work with data using SQL and Python
- Experience reviewing analytical methods and outputs
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years in a consulting firm using data to solve for client engagement
- Experience in collecting user requirements and translating them into functional requirements for a data analytics solution
- Experience in leading projects with Agile methodologies
- Healthcare sector experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
- Master's degree in quantitative field or MBA strongly preferred.
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$142,140.00 - $284,280.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
