Business Intelligence Analyst

Location: Pune, Maharashtra, India

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for preparing and delivering business intelligence (BI) analyses, dashboards, and reports for key stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making. This role gathers reporting requirements, extracts and analyzes data from multiple systems, ensures data quality, and develops meaningful insights using standardized reporting practices and analytical tools. The analyst collaborates with business and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather business and reporting requirements from stakeholders and translate them into analytical solutions and recurring reports.
  • Extract, cleanse, validate, and analyze data from operational systems, reporting databases, and data warehouses to generate actionable insights.
  • Perform quality assurance on data and analytical outputs to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of conclusions.
  • Select appropriate analytical methods, reporting techniques, and visualization approaches based on business needs and problem statements.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using globally standardized BI practices.
  • Deliver recurring reports and ad hoc analyses accurately and within defined timelines.
  • Build and enhance analytical models to support decision-making across business functions.
  • Partner with senior BI analysts, business leaders, and stakeholders to clarify business requirements and reporting objectives.
  • Communicate analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across global teams and effectively manage multiple stakeholder expectations.
  • Bridge business needs with analytics and technology solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement in data governance, reporting standards, and analytical capabilities.
  • Demonstrate Cummins leadership behaviors and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive work culture.
Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to derive insights from complex datasets.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, including dashboard creation, data modeling, and DAX.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying and transforming structured data.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server, and SSAS models.
  • Understanding of data quality, data governance, and reporting best practices.
  • Knowledge of data mining, statistical analysis, and visualization techniques.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for conveying insights to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools, technologies, and business challenges.
  • Strong collaboration skills with experience working across technical and business teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Exposure to Python, Machine Learning, OpenAI technologies, and Microsoft Power Platform is an added advantage.
