The Payloads Interior Responsibility Center (IRC) organization within Boeing Commercial Aircraft is seeking Mid-Level and Senior Engineers for a number of different positions to join our teams in Everett, WA.
The IRC organization is a dynamic, diverse, and inclusive environment where you will be responsible for everything you see when you fly; and much of which you don’t. We are how our airline customers fulfill their mission and represent their brand and shape how the public experiences flight. Our organization is a fast paced, dynamic environment, which pulls from many engineering backgrounds. The selected candidate will have a statement of work that spans the product lifecycle: supporting customer configuration development, supplier engagement, validating and verifying design requirements, integrating business needs, and supporting the product through the production and certification processes. Your work will include the need to interface with other members of project engineering, production engineering, program/product teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions. You will be able to combine the expertise and resources of the interiors organization to certify and deliver the best interiors products within the industry.
IRC is seeking candidates with experience in any of the following areas:
Design for manufacturing
Engineering support and project leadership within a production system
Position Responsibilities:
Leading a team of engineers executing engineering design work statement and inspiring them to seek technical excellence
Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of product development and production support
Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements (ie trade studies, mockups, producibility, etc)
Manages engineering work statement estimates, coordination, skill and capabilities
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering
5+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, and/or certification or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience leading a cross-functional team
Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent or MIL handbook 615 or equivalent
Knowledge in composite (prepreg, honeycomb, etc), metal, and thermoplastic design and manufacturing methods
Knowledge in mechanisms, inserts, tie rods, brackets, clips, latches, hinges, fittings, etc
Knowledge to engineering design, drafting, GD&T, engineering release and change process, drawing structure, and fit form and function
Understanding of various certification processes including Type Certificate (TC), Supplement Type Certificate (STC), etc. along with test and analysis process involved in showing compliance including failure analysis
9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrates good problem-solving skills and critical thinking
Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences
Ability to work in engineering and manufacturing blended environment
Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development

Typical Education/Experience:
Experienced (Level 3)
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 4)
Bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
