System Integrator
Location: Petah Tikva (IL)
Description
Airobotics is a leading company specializing in the development and manufacturing of autonomous drone systems. Its solutions combine hardware, software, and AI-driven technologies to support complex, large-scale operations. Airobotics works primarily with defense industries, such as military and law enforcement agencies worldwide. The company is part of Ondas Holdings and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary.
We are looking for a true hands-on system integrator - someone who wants to understand how the entire system works, not just an individual component.
This position is ideal for an experienced Technician or Practical Engineer with strong system-level understanding, excellent hands-on integration skills, and the ability to take a system from engineering design through prototype build, multidisciplinary integration, verification, documentation, and field readiness.
The System Integrator will work closely with System Engineering and multidisciplinary R&D teams, taking the Master Integration Plan and turning it into a fully integrated, tested, documented, and operational system.
Responsibilities
- Execute the Master Integration Plan defined by System Engineering and take ownership of its hands-on implementation.
- Perform system-level integration across mechanical, electrical, electronic, communication, computing, and software domains.
- Verify mechanical, electrical, and logical interfaces between computers, controllers, sensors, communication devices, and other system components.
- Perform systematic troubleshooting and root-cause isolation of integration issues, working closely with the relevant engineering teams through resolution.
- Build and integrate engineering prototypes based on drawings, schematics, engineering documentation, and guidance from R&D teams.
- Transform engineering prototypes and integration processes into repeatable production processes.
- Prepare and maintain assembly instructions, production documentation, test procedures, and serial production documentation.
- Create and maintain Route Cards based on engineering requirements, instructions, and technical processes.
- Manage system firmware configurations, including identifying and verifying firmware versions, ensuring compatibility between subsystems, and flashing the appropriate firmware.
- Configure computers, controllers, communication devices, and other system components as part of the integration process.
- Prepare complete systems for laboratory and field testing, including assembly, configuration, firmware loading, functional verification, and pre-test checks.
- Own the technical preparation of systems to achieve Ready for Test status.
- Support field trials, troubleshoot system-level issues, document findings, and provide structured feedback to the engineering teams.
- Work closely with System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Software, Firmware, Testing, and Production teams.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience integrating complex, multidisciplinary systems.
- Excellent hands-on technical capabilities in system assembly, wiring, installation, configuration, and testing.
- Strong understanding of electrical and electronic interfaces and the ability to read and work with electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Good understanding of communication and logical interfaces between computers, controllers, sensors, and other system components.
- Proven experience in system troubleshooting, debugging, fault isolation, and root-cause analysis.
- Experience working with embedded system firmware, including version verification, flashing, configuration, and functional validation.
- Ability to understand engineering documentation and translate engineering requirements into practical, structured, and repeatable work processes.
- Experience creating assembly instructions, production documentation, test procedures, and Route Cards.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a strong focus on configuration control, documentation, and repeatability.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and participate in field testing activities.
Significant Advantages
- Experience with unmanned aerial systems (UAS), drones, autonomous systems, or robotics.
- Experience with ArduPilot-based systems, including configuration, parameters, firmware management, and troubleshooting.
- Previous experience in the aerospace, defense, robotics, or other complex multidisciplinary system industries.
- Technical background from the Israeli Air Force or another technical military unit, particularly in system integration, maintenance, testing, or operational system preparation.
