We're looking for an experienced Senior Software Development Manager whose role will encompass multiple aspects of program delivery, technical leadership, and people management. This person will lead a DataZone (ZPA) team of individual contributors. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Software Development Engineering, you'll be responsible for:

  • Passionate about building a best in class product with a focus on RASS – Reliability, Availability, Scalability and Security.
  • Communicating technical solutions to all levels within-group and cross-discipline; status reporting and presenting solutions is an integral part of the job
  • Ensure highly available services with zero downtime. Be responsible for developing and running services in partnership with the operations teams.

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 5+ years of Engineering Management experience with a proven track record in managing high performing Global Engineering teams
  • 8+ years of hands-on development experience in Java, Microservices including relevant experience developing systems software products and solutions with experience cloud infrastructure services on AWS/Azure/GCP
  • Ability to lead and influence team members to forge consensus on technical discussions including architectural and design guidelines, code reviews, release process.
  • Experience in Development processes like creating technical, architectural and deployment documents and QA processes.
  • Set the technical direction of the entire ZPA DataZone and influence the team to raise the standards in reliability, performance, scalability, architecture, security and engineering best practices.

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Prior experience with distributed software product architectures and Requirement/Design/Code Review & Inspections practices and strong understanding of design / architectural patterns and automation platforms.
  • Experience building full CI/CD systems leveraging Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure services on AWS/Azure/GCP
  • Experience being on call and dealing with cloud incidents and writing RCAs
