Description
The Mobile team at Zscaler develops a cross-platform client application for Windows, MacOS, Android, iOS and Linux, to securely steer endpoint traffic to Zscaler cloud. You will have a background in software development of networking applications, testing, and deployment with a focus on performance and reliability. We ask that you can work with development teams to ensure that our software meets the highest standards of reliability and quality. This position will be based in our San Jose, CA office and you will report to the Manager, Engineering.
You will have worked on a VPN client or networking client side applications.
Responsibilities
- Work with Product Management to understand requirements and customer needs.
- Design networking software and SDKs using the latest software development techniques.
- Analyze software performance data to identify and address issues related to reliability and quality.
- Develop automated tests to validate software functionality and reliability.
What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- 5+ years software development experience, with emphasis on networking-based applications
- Solid experience with object-oriented languages including Java/Kotlin & C/C++
- Some experience with Android app development
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking model
- Experience with networking protocols like TLS/DTLS/HTTPS/DNS
- Experience developing and debugging complex software applications
- Knowledge of tools like Wireshark and BPF
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
- Experience with software performance measurement tools
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with network security concepts such as PKI, VPN and firewall
- Good understanding of authentication frameworks such as SAML/OIDC
- Experience with the CI/CD pipeline development methodologies

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations and could be higher or lower based on a multitude of factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
The base salary range listed for this full-time position excludes commission/ bonus/ equity (if applicable) + benefits.
