A day in the life...
- Set the strategic direction for the mobile app product in collaboration with the Chief Customer and Chief Technology Officer – starting from Zopa’s overall purpose and business objectives.
- Translate the strategy into well defined products, services and capabilities within the App roadmap
- Energise the app team to deliver the roadmap, managing relationships and interdependencies across the business and externally. In places this will mean challenging existing structures and ways of working to ensure that the App vision can be delivered
- Set a high bar for App product design – ensuring that the end result for the user is an engaging and intuitive one when benchmarked cross industry
- Work closely with Engineering leadership to ensure that the app platform is robust, technology choices are well thought through for the short and medium term and that change is delivered in a well managed and responsible way
- Use data and MI to monitor and improve App experience and performance over time and to ensure management visibility of these
- Manage risks and controls associated with the App in a way that is responsible and inline with Zopa’s risk appetite
- Build an App team which is able to deliver on the ambition for the product – ensuring the right shape of the team, right level of resilience, right individuals and the right level of coaching and support to be successful
- Contribute to the wider product community at Zopa to ensure that it continues to be a compelling place for talented people to build their product careers
About you...
- Proven track record of leading an App product at scale in an ‘app first’ business. This does not have to be in Financial Services
- Depth of App experience – we are looking for an ‘App native’ product manager with a career path which demonstrates immersion in App product development
- Strong strategic thinking – clear evidence of setting strategic direction and delivering on it to drive key outcomes
- Excellent delivery capability – the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a consistent ability to deliver on a challenging roadmap
- Product Mastery – the successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of how to design great App journeys and experiences – making them capable of leading and challenging the teams to get to a transformative outcome
- Excellent communication skills: Able to communicate clearly and concisely up and down the organisation in order to move forward the App agenda
- Highly numerate and analytical – used to using data to understand behaviours, generate insights and drive decision making around App roadmap and success criteria
