Solution Architect – Mergers, Acquisitions & Divestitures and Enterprise Architecture

Summary:

For our Zoetis Tech & Digital organization, we are seeking a Solution Architect to architect and design the delivery of transformational solutions within our multi-faceted ecosystem. As a Solution Architect you will be responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision to help ensure the solution under development will be fit for its intended purpose and scope. You will play a critical role in the solution delivery by helping with aligning the many solution builders across multiple delivery teams (internal and supplier) to a shared technical direction. To do this, you will collaborate with cross-functional Teams to elaborate the solution, validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation alternatives, and converge on the final solution.

Responsibilities:

• Establish Solution Intent and Context:
  • Identify and respond to technology-enabled business opportunities
  • Participate in solution definition
  • Evaluate technology tradeoffs
  • Formulate architectural intent for each solution
  • Define compliance requirements and solution non-functional requirements
  • Understand and communicate Solution Context
• Define and Communicate Architecture Vision:
  • Prepare and update the architecture vision and roadmap
  • Identify risks and mitigations
  • Define architectural enablers and runway, including standardized templates
  • Participate in Project / Program Increment Planning
  • Ensure capacity allocation for enablement work
• Evolve Solution Architecture with delivery teams (internal and suppliers):
  • Support exploration and experimentation
  • Apply modeling and simulation
  • Regularly review solution increments
  • Collaborate with delivery teams on solution design
• Foster Built-in Quality and Continuous Delivery Pipeline (CDP):
  • Foster solution design that supports frequent integration and testability
  • Participate in the design of the CDP
  • Define and evolve development and deployment infrastructure
  • Participate in release governance
• Evolve Live Solutions:
  • Evolve architecture to support new business priorities
  • Advance and support non-functional requirements
  • Ensure continuous compliance

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related technology field

• Minimum 10+ years in a closely related field and role
• Ability to lead, working collaboratively and creatively with business and IT stakeholders
• Strong human relation and communication skills
• Experience in cloud architecture best practices, services and products
• Project and Program Management

Desirable Certifications:

• The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF)
• Azure Certified Solutions Architect or similar
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional – Architecture (CISSP)
• SAFe for Architects

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Deep practical coding knowledge in strongly typed languages such as Java and C# for web and server applications, and in front end technologies such as Angular and React
• Strong experience in ERP, Finance systems, client/server applications, RESTful services and web servers
• Good working knowledge of Active Directory, cloud platforms and PaaS services, in particular Microsoft Azure
• Experience in a range of database systems, from traditional RDBMS/SQL to NoSQL and other scalable databases technologies
• Strong experience with Microservices and SOA architectures
• Experience with Agile and Scaled Agile software development practices
• Passion for solving complex problems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and work with cross-functional teams while thriving in a fast-paced growing company
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, which includes the ability to present complex topics to Leadership Team and non-technical audiences
• Strong Project and Program Management skills
• Good understanding of budgets and project related finance management

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to
be located in Colorado. Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.

Base Pay Range: $123,000 - $192,000

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in California, NJ Remote, NY Remote, or Washington. Base pay may vary based on location and
other factors.

Base Pay Range: $139,000 - $217,000

This position is eligible for short-term incentive compensation. The position is also eligible for long-term incentive.
