Software Engineer II

Position: Software Engineer II

Responsibilities: Implement software using technologies such as Perl (including the Catalyst web framework), Go, MySQL, JavaScript/jQuery, AWS services such as S3 and DynamoDB, and container orchestration software such as Docker and Kubernetes. Utilize and apply software engineering tools to automate ZipRecruiter's IT operation tasks including production system management, change management, incident response, and all tasks that would otherwise be performed manually by system administrators. Design, implement, and troubleshoot large fault-tolerant distributed software systems. Design and implement a diverse ecology of software engineering tools and frameworks surrounding ZipRecruiter's Kubernetes clusters. Design, implement, and continually refine complex and performant CI/CD infrastructure which is the combined practice of continuous integration to bridge the gap between development and operation activities and teams by enforcing automation in building, testing, and deployment of applications. Request and perform code reviews, as well as identify and resolve various security-related features through leveraging knowledge of the product and the vulnerabilities that caused the security issues to emerge. Position will be headquartered in Santa Monica, CA, and allows for telecommuting from various unanticipated worksites throughout the United States.

Educ./experience: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems Management, Information Technology, or related field. Coursework must include Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Web Application Development and Distributed Systems for Information Systems Management. Position will be headquartered in Santa Monica, CA, and allows for telecommuting from various unanticipated worksites throughout the United States. Salary range:            $121,222  to $130,000 per year
