Lead Software Engineer

We are seeking a talented Lead Software Engineer, fluent in our technology stack who wants to help build a scalable system and lead the technical vision.

Our ideal candidate is a Lead with 8+ years of experience leading technical teams, with experience building scalable production applications, working with large data sets, and owning the entire development lifecycle. You will need to be a team player while collaborating closely with our product managers to enhance our mature, complex product. You will get to work with React, Python, AWS, among other technologies. Your Responsibilities:

• Providing Technical leadership to the team and setting the technical strategy.
• Act as a final point of escalation on development goals.
• Advanced knowledge of web application development and delivery.
• Encourage innovation throughout the product and solutions that are being architected.
• Creating and maintaining our APIs.
• Creating and maintaining our Frontend and Backend architecture.
• Planning and maintaining a product long-term.
• Performing code reviews
• Creating/maintaining documentation.
• Writing comprehensive tests.
• Collaborating with product to deliver on the roadmap.

About You:

• BS/MS/PHD in computer science or related fields.
• Excellent understanding of python and scalable infrastructure for web technologies on AWS.
• Proven experience in managing and coaching engineers and product owners in scalable solutions.
• Deep understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms.
• You understand how to build for distributed high-volume services in Python.
• Knowledge of development best practices (agile methodologies, code reviews, backend testing frameworks).
• Excellent backend and frontend architecture experience.
• 5+ Previous experience working with Python/Django and React.
• Knowledge of API architecture development and optimization.
• Strong understanding of relational databases like PostgreSQL.
• Experience developing and deploying a product in a production environment (product lifecycle, sticking to release schedules, etc.).
• Knowledge of development best practices (agile methodologies, code reviews, Javascript testing frameworks).
