Zebra Technologies is a leaders in data capture solutions running on rugged mobile computers. We are looking for engineers to lead and deliver our feature backlog on Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision related data capture use cases.

 

As an AI/Vision lead, you will be playing a pivotal role in envisioning, designing and delivering next generation data capture features with a strong foundation built on AI/CV capabilities.  You would work with scrum teams using agile technical best practices right from defining Epics, stories to developing and delivering high quality robust Android platform using lean agile development approach. You would be responsible for design and development of code which can be reusable assets. You would be collaborating with various stake holders including Product management, program management, cross functional scrum teams, System Test team etc. to discuss the features and solve issues affecting end user experience with a strict compliance to the schedule.

 

Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s products and systems. Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency. Develops, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation. Work is accomplished without considerable direction. Exerts significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment.

 


Responsibilities:
  • Expertise on delivering features related to computer vision and/or AI
  • Working knowledge on Android based devices, preferably Qualcomm chipsets.
  • Establishes requirements for highly complex software design projects and may lead a team responsible for establishing requirements. Ensure correct features are incorporated first in the projects.
  • Architects and designs highly complex software projects. Completes all phases of the projects. Follows through on all in-process and final inspection activities.
  • Drives code review of projects. Develops and applies technical and quality improvements.
  • Creates new programs, technologies and solutions based on novel or unique ideas. Insures new ideas and methodologies are documented for use by software teams.
  • Uses status as a knowledge leader in software design and functional knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines and program management to provide technical leadership to a given program.
  • Defines requirements for and may design complex new tools to aid in the analysis and solving of complex problems.
  • Initiates cross-company collaboration and develops positive relationships with other engineering disciplines.
  • Exercises judgment (within broadly defined policies and practices) in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • May coordinate the activities of other personnel.
  • Networks with key contacts outside own area of expertise. Interacts with management and senior customer personnel on matters requiring coordination across organizational lines. Represent the organization as the principal customer contact and often performs project leadership.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of proven experience in computer vision, image and video processing, or related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C, C++11 and above programming skills. Java would be added advantage.
  • Bachelor’s in computer engineering/computer science (preferably with specialization in computer vision and machine learning);
  •  Strong knowledge of machine learning and deep learning techniques related to computer vision.
  •  Understanding of computer vision; key areas of interest include at least 1 of the following: object detection, tracking and recognition, multiple view geometry, OCR detection, camera calibrations, 3D data processing, SfM/SLAM, activity recognition.
  • Experience with Android and computer vision on Android is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with computer vision libraries (like OpenCV) and machine learning frameworks (such as TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Parallelized & vectorized computation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on product development.
  • Excellent understanding of software design and programming principles.
  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus.
