Android/Gen AI Intern - Summer 2025 (Holtsville, NY)

Remote Work: Hybrid

The purpose of this internship is to prepare the engeering student for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization. The program is designed to provide you with a full experience so that you can fully envision a career with Zebra. You will be positioned for success with training, exposure to all parts of the business, social activities, a professional mentor relationship and development sessions to help you discover your own performance edge!

As an Android/Gen AI Intern you will be involved in developing and deploying cutting-edge AI and ML solutions. You will work on integrating these technologies into Android and web applications and utilize Generative AI to enhance our solutions. This role offers valuable hands-on experience and an opportunity to contribute to impactful projects within a collaborative work environment.

THIS IS A HYBRID INTERNSHIP LOCATED IN HOLTSVILLE, NEW YORK. THE EXPECTATION IS AT LEAST 3 DAYS OF IN-OFFICE ATTENDANCE.

• AI/ML Development: Assist in researching, creating, and deploying AI/ML models using Generative AI.
• Android Integration: Help integrate AI and ML models into Android and web applications to improve functionality.
• Utilize AI Tools: Work with tools such as GCP Dialogflow, Vertex AI to drive project outcomes and innovation.
• Collaborate: Work with software engineering directors, architects, and senior engineers to achieve project goals.
• Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of your work, present findings, and demos to the team.
• Develop planning, organizational and leadership skills
• Increase technology knowledge and skills
• Develop team-based work proficiencies
• Develop interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow up activities

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in Computer Engineering with Generative AI and Machine Learning skills or related field.
• Must have an anticipated graduation date between December 2025 and May 2026.
• Must work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
• AI/ML Knowledge: Good understanding of AI/ML concepts.
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, NodeJS or Python.
• Android/Cloud Development: Good knowledge of Android and/or cloud solutions development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AI/ML projects or Android development is advantageous.
• Experience with anyone of AI tools such as Google Vertex AI, Dialogflow, OpenAI’s GPT, orAzure AI.
• Knowledge of Git and other development tools. 
• Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow.
• Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiences.
• Ability to collaborate as part of a team.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Salary: USD 19.50 - USD 42.50 Yearly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement.
