The purpose of this internship is to prepare college students for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization. The program is designed to provide you with a full experience so that you can fully envision a career with Zebra. We are the Software Development Team responsible for wearable computer business unit. Our team work on Embedded Operating Systems, Micro Controller Firmware, Android BSP and Cloud and Device solutions for our business unit. Our team comprises of multi-talented team of people who switch between different domains thus possess multitude of skills and expertise.

• Develop planning, organizational and leadership skills
• Increase technology knowledge and skills
• Develop team-based work proficiencies
• Develop interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow up activities
• Collaborate with a diverse team to develop and implement AI-driven features for wearable devices.
• Contribute to the design and testing of real-time assistance features for wearables, with a focus on areas such as voice command, task automation, and analytics.
• Assist in integrating Generative AI models to analyze data from wearable sensors (biometrics, activity levels, and location) and generate actionable user insights.
• Contribute to the creation of an interactive, user-friendly interface for delivering UX and notifications on wearable devices.
• Enhance AI models based on user feedback and performance metrics to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in wearable tech and AI to suggest innovative features and enhancements.

THIS IS A HYBRID INTERNSHIP LOCATED IN HOLTSVILLE, NY. THE EXPECTATION IS AT LEAST 3 DAYS OF IN-OFFICE ATTENDANCE.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in Computer Science or similar.
• Must have an anticipated graduation date by December 2026.
• Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
• Proficient in at least one programming language use in AI Development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
• Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
• Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiences
• Ability to collaborate as part of a team
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated initiative where, candidate has completed small to medium projects on their own or as part of course work
• Preferred Tech Experience:
  - Proficiency in Python, Java/Kotlin, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Android SDK.
  - Experience with Generative AI models or AI integration in software solutions.

Salary: USD 19.50 - USD 42.50 Hourly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links Company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
