The Role

We seek a proactive, tenacious technical manager to join our EMEA team. The ideal candidate will be hands-on in managing account tasks and activities.  Whilst also managing customer or internal escalations. You will be expected to see technical issues to resolution by harnessing the strong technical team behind you. You will not be expected to own any technical decisions, but you will be expected to own the planning, tracking and driving forward of those decisions.

Responsibilities

  • You will be accountable for planning, tracking, and managing customer and team member tasks, such as 
    • Customer database migration project plans, professional services statements of work and ad-hoc tasks 
    • Team members active escalations, active work items and ad-hoc tasks 
  • You will make well-presented customer-facing presentations, gathering the required input from the technical team 
  • You would manage customer expectations of internal product roadmap deliverables. 
  • You would manage customer health, maintain strong customer relationships
  • You will be expected to drive internal and external technical tasks; this could be from driving a major incident to resolution or ensuring a low-risk change goes to plan.
  • You would be considered accountable for open incidents and escalations on customer accounts and would drive internal teams to resolve.   The internal engineering and product teams are geographically distributed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a technical account manager, technical project manager, and technical customer services manager.  Or you have a strong database administration or engineering background and are looking to take a technical manager role.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Understand database production operations (incident management, change management, problem management) and the vendor-supplier relationship.
  • You have experience of being accountable for technical escalations
  • You have an awareness of SQL databases
