Senior iOS Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to help us to continually build the Yoto iOS app.

We have a catalogue of audio that inspires creative play and learning with 1,000+ titles in our card store from top creators, publishers and labels - think Disney, Marvel, Roald Dahl and Universal Music. We also create Yoto Originals like this one.

Yoto App Team

We look after the Yoto apps, building out new & exciting features to continually delight our customers. The apps are designed to support parents giving them access to their whole library, enable them to make their own content and to set player settings. The apps are also available for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

We’re a team of 11 including QA, UX and a Product Manager, we’re focused and fast paced, working in a Kanban environment. The current developer split is 3 iOS developers, 3 Android developers and a team manager. Everybody is encouraged to have a voice and influence the product direction. Our stack is Swift, SwiftUI, Alamofire, Combine, Crashlytics, Firebase, Bugfender, Lottie.

What you’ll be doing:

• Write clean and robust code following good development principles (SOLID, DRY, KISS, YAGNI)
  
• Use TDD incl. unit, integration and end-to-end tests and be prepared to write tests for all feature delivery
  
• Get involved in architecture, standards and tooling decisions
  
• Take part in researching, estimating and prioritising features for the roadmap
  
• Work with the Player OS and Platform teams to deliver features
  

What you’ll bring:

• 5+ years of experience of iOS app development within a fast paced environment
  
• Native iOS Swift development experience
  
• Understanding of iOS app development design patterns and native iOS SDKs
  
• Understanding of patterns such as MVVM
  
• Experience consuming 3rd party APIs and familiarity with standard authentication mechanisms (OAuth/Auth0)
  
• Ability to work in a fast paced scale-up environment
  
• Comfortable in contributing to discussions and presenting your solutions

 

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 based on experience
