Product Manager, Payments Infrastructure

Department: Product

Employment Type: Full-Time

Location: Remote

Who We Are

Yellow Card is the largest licensed Stablecoin-based infrastructure provider operating across over 60 countries. From Stablecoin payment infrastructure to fiat settlement rails, wallet services, and custom local Stablecoin issuance, Yellow Card provides the complete infrastructure businesses need to manage Stablecoins, payments, and operations across 50 emerging markets.

Yellow Card operates with a substantial global team spanning 24 countries. This workforce is characterized by its linguistic diversity, with collective speaking of over 25 languages, underscoring the company’s extensive international reach.

About the Role

The Product Manager, Payments Infrastructure, will be responsible for the underlying rails, systems, and integrations that move money through Yellow Card's platform. Working closely with the Payment Experience PM, who designs how customers interact with payments, you'll own the infrastructure that makes those experiences possible: settlement rails, ledger systems, banking and liquidity partner integrations, and multi-currency processing at scale.

You will be the voice of reliability, scalability, and correctness for every payment that moves through Yellow Card. You'll own how transactions are processed, settled, and reconciled under the hood — from initiation through to funds landing in the right place, in the right currency, on time. Your focus is ensuring the payment infrastructure is resilient, fast, and able to scale across Yellow Card's markets and multiple banking and Stablecoin rails.

As the subject matter expert for payments infrastructure, you'll work closely with engineering on system architecture trade-offs, partner with Compliance and Treasury on regulatory and liquidity requirements, and represent infrastructure capabilities and constraints to the rest of Product. This role requires deep technical fluency in payments systems, strong engineering collaboration skills, and the ability to make sound trade-offs between speed, cost, and reliability.

What You’ll Do

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Payments Infrastructure Roadmap

  • Own the technical roadmap for core payment processing infrastructure: rails, ledger, settlement engine, and currency conversion
  • Own the execution of the Virtual accounts strategy for the organization
  • Partner with the Payment Experience PM to translate infrastructure capabilities into customer-facing features, and to surface upcoming experience needs back into the infrastructure roadmap
  • Evaluate and prioritize new banking, liquidity, and Stablecoin rail integrations based on cost, speed, and market coverage
  • Define infrastructure investment priorities: where to build for scale now versus later

Core Payment Systems

  • Own the ledger and transaction processing systems that record and reconcile every payment
  • Own settlement logic across banking partners, liquidity providers, and Stablecoin rails (USDC, USDT, PYUSD)
  • Own multi-currency conversion and routing logic, including selecting the optimal rail per transaction
  • Own Virtual IBAN infrastructure and other virtual account capabilities that underpin customer-facing payment features
  • Partner with engineering on system architecture decisions: consistency, idempotency, failure handling, and reconciliation

Partner & Compliance Integration

  • Work with Treasury on liquidity requirements and how they shape infrastructure design (funding models, corridor coverage)
  • Work with Compliance to ensure regulatory and licensing requirements are built into infrastructure by design across every market, not bolted on afterward
  • Manage the roadmap for onboarding new banking and liquidity partners into the payment stack

Reliability, Scalability & Metrics

  • Define and track infrastructure health metrics:
    • Transaction success rate and settlement time, by rail and corridor
    • System uptime and reconciliation accuracy
    • Error rates and incident frequency/severity
  • Partner with engineering on capacity planning and incident response for payment systems
  • Continuously identify and prioritize technical debt that puts reliability or scale at risk

Internal Education & Enablement

  • Document infrastructure capabilities and constraints for other Product, Engineering, and GTM teams
  • Maintain an internal knowledge base of rail coverage, corridor-specific quirks, and partner integration details
  • Act as the go-to technical resource when other teams need to understand what the payments infrastructure can and can't do

What You’ll Bring

  • 5+ years of Product experience, with at least 3 years working on payments infrastructure, rails, ledgers, or core banking/transaction systems in fintech or crypto
  • Strong technical fluency — comfortable in detailed architecture discussions with engineering (APIs, distributed systems, data consistency trade-offs)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Product, or a related field
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and across different time zones
  • Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results under pressure
  • Experience with Stablecoin or crypto settlement rails is a plus
  • Experience with banking partner integrations, correspondent banking, or cross-border payment rails is a plus

What We Offer

  • Impactful and Purposeful Work: You will be helping to drive financial inclusion across emerging markets.
  • Remote-First Flexibility: We embrace a fully remote work environment.
  • Global & Diverse Team: You will have the opportunity to work with talented professionals from 25+ countries across the world, in a multicultural and collaborative environment.
  • Learning & Development: Access to resources, support, and autonomy to grow professionally.
  • Mental Health Support Services: Your mental well-being matters to us.
  • Compensation & Benefits: We offer competitive compensation and meaningful health coverage, and all full-time employees are participants in our stock option plan.
