We are looking for an experienced Technical Game Designer with a strong background in LiveOps and Unreal Engine. You combine a deep understanding of game design principles with the technical expertise needed to implement and iterate on gameplay systems. You enjoy solving complex design challenges, collaborating with engineers and artists, and using player feedback and analytics to continuously improve the game experience. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, implement, and iterate on gameplay systems and features for a live game.
- Create clear and detailed game design documentation, technical specifications, and feature requirements.
- Work closely with engineers, artists, and producers to ensure high-quality implementation of game mechanics.
- Configure and prototype gameplay features using Unreal Engine and Blueprints.
- Balance game systems, progression, and in-game economy based on player behavior and analytics.
- Support LiveOps activities by designing events, features, and content updates that improve player engagement and retention.
- Identify technical constraints and collaborate with engineering teams to develop scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Analyze player feedback, game metrics, and performance data to drive continuous improvements.
- Participate in feature planning, playtesting, and quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, LiveOps best practices, and emerging technologies to help evolve the product.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience as a Technical Game Designer, Game Designer, or in a similar role on live game projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with Unreal Engine, including Blueprints and gameplay feature implementation.
- Solid understanding of game design principles, gameplay systems, progression, and balancing.
- Experience designing and supporting LiveOps features, events, and content updates.
- Ability to create clear game design documentation and technical specifications.
- Experience collaborating closely with engineers to deliver gameplay features from concept to release.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret player data and translate insights into design improvements.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- English proficiency at Upper-Intermediate (B2) level or higher.
- Experience shipping PC or console titles.
- Knowledge of C++ or other scripting/programming languages.
- Experience with game telemetry, analytics, and A/B testing.
- Familiarity with multiplayer game systems and online services.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Perforce, Git).
- Understanding of game economy design and monetization in LiveOps environments.
