Job Description
This position will manage the team focused on IT infrastructure for the standardized Xe-100 plant and fuel manufacturing facilities as a product. The team will design, develop, deploy, integrate, and maintain industry leading and technologically advanced network, compute and storage infrastructure designs for secured, scalable and resilient nuclear power and fuel fabrication facilities. This position will oversee engineers to directly establish and manage work breakdown structures, resource leveling, vendor engagements, cost estimates, documentation and other management for project deliverables as related.
Job Profile Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Communicate and present complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in written form.
- Manage the design, development, and integration plans related to product infrastructure toward industry approved and full-lifecycle managed designs of network/compute/storage system for large scale manufacturing and plant facilities leveraging strong analytical, organizational problem-solving and lateral thinking skills to maintain security, availability, performance, and scalability, continuous improvement, and monitoring for highly available and redundant infrastructure.
- Develop work plans and lead task assignment of Product Infrastructure engineering team resources on service and project deliverables for product infrastructure projects and daily operational objectives (where specified) to achieve company business targets as well as dependencies of multiple infrastructure projects.
- Mentor and advise individual professional growth, as well as planning and review of corporate training objectives.
- Oversee and advise engineering team on creation and deployment of security hardened and compliant manufacturing and plant facility network Infrastructure solutions.
- Full life-cycle development, test, and production management for facility network and infrastructure systems, tailored for manufacturing and plant facility engineering, modeling, and data analytic needs.
- Review and provide risk-based analysis on vendor network deployment guides and instructions for new products to develop secure, resilient, and scalable network infrastructure enabling enterprise applications and platforms integration into core service management systems.
- Manage and collaborate on all aspects of project requirement development, deployment, and operational release management.
- Manage vendor and subcontractor related work packages as related to designs and/or customer deployments.
- Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Job Profile Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer information management or minimum four years' work experience in Information Technology field in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Typically, ten years of enterprise network, compute and storage infrastructure engineering design, implementation and management experience of Manufacturing, Plant or Large Scale Data Centers to include multi-site, hybrid on-premises and Cloud Service Provider environments.
- Strong experience designing, deploying, and managing secure networks for manufacturing facilities and/or large scale industrial plants, including Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) and Distributed Control System (DCS).
- Expertise in designing and configuring firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and SD-WAN for industrial networks.
- In-depth understanding of industrial network protocols and systems integration (SCADA, DCS,).
- Experience with wireless and distributed antennae communications, radio frequency (RF) networks and technologies in manufacturing environments.
- Strong experience with builds, configurations, and secure management of Routers, Firewalls, Switches, Virtual Private Network (VPN), Wireless Access Point (WAP), Cloud Service Provider (CSP) network security and IP address management, as well as Software-Defined (SD) Wide-Area Networking (WAN) from Cloud Service Provider offerings and capabilities
- Experience with standard and high-performance computing, as well as enterprise class Storage Area Network (SAN) storage, Software Defined Storage, and virtualization hypervisors such as VMWare and KVM.
- Experience cabling, creating, deploying, and troubleshooting network routers, firewalls, switches, WAPs, and VPNs within enterprise network product lines such as Cisco, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), Juniper, Palo Alto, Ubiquity, and others with industry telecommunication Circuit Providers as well as CSPs to enable secured, high-availability and low-latency network segments, Site-to-Site IPsec Tunnels, applications, and remote management environments.
- Experience managing design and product lifecycle management in the following software applications: Siemens TeamCenter, Siemens NX, Visio, LucidChart, and Gitlab
- Experience with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Standards and Controls, specifically the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI) Cyber Security Plan for Nuclear Power Reactors.
- Familiarity with NIST 800-171 and 800-53, ITAR, ECI, and DOE CFR regulatory standards and how they affect network and security architecture.
- Knowledge of network engineering solutions leveraging and/or integrating next-generation network hardware and software infrastructure products from industry leaders in plant and manufacturing facility designs.
- Experience as project manager or network/infrastructure engineering lead.
Compensation
As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). Individual candidates who meet the job requirements for the posted position will be offered a salary within this range based on their respective levels of education/training, experience, and other qualifications unique to them. Salary ranges may vary based on the specific office location and region referenced in the posting to take into consideration differences in cost of living and may not be reflective of all regions. Please note that compensation ranges listed for US job postings reflect base salary only and do not include benefits or other incentives.
