Driven by the passion to improve quality of people’s lives, WSA continues to grow as a market leader in the hearing aid industry. With our commitment to increase penetration in an underserved hearing care market, we want to accelerate our business transformation to reach more people, more effectively.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer who can thrive in a big organization and successfully collaborate with many other disciplines and internal stakeholders at our three main sites in Lynge, Singapore and Erlangen, and externally with a wide range of suppliers.

In this role, you will be part of the mechanical design team in the department of Initial and Special Products developing cutting-edge hearing aids and earwear for WSA's brands. The team is involved in most aspects of the product development cycles including early-stage explorations, concepting, prototyping, detailed design, maturation for production, documentation, testing, verification and investigating field returns. We work closely with colleagues from other disciplines such as electro-acoustic designers, wireless antenna designers, hardware designers and material specialists and we have state-of-the-art in-house production, testing and prototyping facilities.

What you will do

· Design, develop and verify mechanical parts/modules/systems for hearing aids and related products (including plastic, rubber, metal, hybrid electrical/ mechanical components) from early concept to market launch.

· Represent the mechanical domain in cross-functional product development projects.

· Support design for manufacturing (DFM) processes, part verification, testing, and system approval in collaboration with Applied Research, the Reliability Test Team, and external partners and suppliers.

· Create, issue, review, and approve product data, item structures, and project documentation (including Engineering Change Orders) within the PLM system, ensuring compliance with WSA Quality Management System (QMS) and internal guidelines.

· Depending on your technical interest and competences, you can develop skills and execute tasks in a specialized area within our technical domain.

· Participate in early investigations and innovation-driven forefront projects to support future product development initiatives, such as concept creation, simulations, material studies, and user trials.

What you bring

· A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, product design & innovation, plastic engineering, materials/manufacturing engineering, or related fields.

· Advanced proficiency in CAD modelling. PTC CREO will be your most important tool.

· Proactive, structured, analytical and able to work in complex, multi-disciplinary projects/teams, often with many unknowns.

· Previous experience designing small injection moulded plastic and rubber parts is a significant advantage.
