MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

・Currently pursuing an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree with an expected graduation through to the end of March 2027

※Must be in school until the end of internship program

・Must be available for a 3-month on-site internship in 2025

・Have no more than 24 months of professional full-time work experience in the technology field (excluding internships, research and/or teaching assistant roles, and military experience)

・Overseas Students (Based outside of Japan) who require visa support must meet one of the following requirements:

　　・The internship program is part of your education and essential for your graduation

　　・This internship allows you to receive some credit(s) for your education program

　　・Have Bachelor degree at the time of application

WORKING CONDITIONS

・Start Date: June 1, 2025, August 1, 2025

・Internship Duration: 3 months

・Expected work hours: 5 days (40 hours/week), depending on visa and class scheduling, some flexibility for shorter hours may be available

・Salary Type: Hourly wage

TEAM

Arene's mission is to empower Toyota and its partners to deliver next-generation vehicles with hardware-agnostic software that can be updated to support new features at any time. Arene Professional Services is a sub-team of Value Delivery and exists to transform jobs, train organizations, customize software products, develop a customer helpdesk function, and prepare others for software implementation.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You will build applications for the purpose of validating and demonstrating all components of the vehicle; from drive systems to infotainment, applications for instrumentation of key platform metrics, applications to evangelize the merits of the Arene platform, and training materials to provide instruction on the usage of the Arene platform. This will require a strong partnership with other Arene teams - there is also the possibility of working with external development teams from Toyota and other manufacturers, working across all products and features. You will report to the Senior Solution Engineer in Arene Professional Services team, and this role’s workplace type is onsite - you will work in the office 5 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Development and maintenance of Arene applications to test and integrate software before delivery to the vehicle
Work closely with our other internal Arene development teams to use, evaluate, and give feedback on tools and platforms built by Arene teams
Develop and maintain training materials related to the Arene platform
Collaborate with other Professional Services engineers to build and manage a variety of software for simulation, testing, integration, and validation of the Arene platform
Provide support for Arene product to customers
Follow best practices for Arene application development

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Development skills in C++ or Flutter
Experience with Git
Creativity and willingness to work on things outside their comfort zone
Effective communication skills and presentation skills with other engineers and customers
Business-level proficiency in English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with software integration and testing through GitHub actions
Knowledge of agile/scrum development methodologies
Proficiency in Japanese
