MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

・Currently pursuing an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree with an expected graduation through to the end of March 2027

※Must be in school until the end of internship program

・Must be available for a 3-month on-site internship in 2025

・Have no more than 24 months of professional full-time work experience in the technology field (excluding internships, research and/or teaching assistant roles, and military experience)

・Overseas Students (Based outside of Japan) who require visa support must meet one of the following requirements:

　　・The internship program is part of your education and essential for your graduation

　　・This internship allows you to receive some credit(s) for your education program

　　・Have Bachelor degree at the time of application

WORKING CONDITIONS

・Start Date: June 1, 2025, August 1, 2025

・Internship Duration: 3 months

・Expected work hours: 5 days (40 hours/week), depending on visa and class scheduling, some flexibility for shorter hours may be available

・Salary Type: Hourly wage

・Work Location: Nihombashi (Head office)

The Global Execution Excellence team ensures that quality is built into the product from the very beginning and strives to constantly improve the way we develop.

We value the principles of the Toyota Production System and believe that thoroughly applying its methodology enables us to produce safe software in the highest quality and in the most efficient way.

The Arene Quality Management Team guarantees that the Arene team delivers the highest quality by defining and ensuring the adoption of a QMS framework of standards and controls for our work processes.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

You will be working closely with the members of the Quality Team to understand current activities and define a scheme to monitor Quality through metrics applied to our products and operations, and ensure their Arene-wide application.

We are looking for interns who are excited about working in a software engineering environment that puts safety and quality first in software production.

We welcome all academic backgrounds, as long as you are excited to learn and have good communication and analytical thinking skills!

You will report to the Team Lead of Quality, Execution Excellence Department, and the role is hybrid - you will work in the office at least 4 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES

You are expected to work beyond the following responsibilities whenever possible to help achieve the mission.

・Collaborate with the Arene Quality members to understand their respective activities (Quality Management System, Quality Assurance audits, Problem Resolution, etc.).

・Identify metrics associated with those activities to quantify Quality.

・Produce a dashboard concept to consolidate those metrics and define the means to acquire them.

・Implement the concept and effectively track the status of the quality metrics.

・Report to Arene stakeholders on the achievements and shortcomings.

・Suggest possible improvements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

・Understanding of modern software development practices and frameworks (Agile, Scrum, ASPICE, …)

・Experience in software Data engineering to:

　　　・Develop algorithms to collect and analyze data.

　　　・Build, test, and maintain database pipeline architectures.

　　　・Create data validation methods and data analysis tools.

・Mindset for ownership, growth, and a bias for progress.

・Solid project management skills.

・Eager to work in multicultural teams and openness to various cultures.

・Deep commitment to quality.

・Excellent English communication and people engagement skills.

NICE TO HAVES

Experience in Quality Planning or Quality Assurance.
Japanese communication skills.
Knowledge of the automotive industry.
Problems and conflicts resolution.
