TEAM
The Digital Twin Platforms team is one of the core Woven Inventor Garage teams under the Woven City umbrella. As such, it is also working towards the realization of Woven City's vision: "Expand mobility. Enhance humanity. Engage society." We are developing a robust software platform that will enable inventors and business owners to "test" their products in a virtual environment before deploying to the physical Woven City. The platform will deliver analytics to help with decision-making based on both simulated results and more importantly operational data collected from the physical city, such as residents daily life, traffic dynamics, energy consumption, etc.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for an engineer who is passionate about enabling a novel digital twin platform. It is one of the key catalysts of innovations in Woven City. Though Woven City is a 'living laboratory', it would be better that inventors' ideas can be tested in a virtual environment before testing it in the real city. The platform will accelerate innovations by providing a city-scale simulation and testing environment for their ideas, services, and products. It can be used to simulate and digitally reproduce various city activities, such as residents' daily life, traffic dynamics, energy consumption, which requires complex interactions between the agents and the environment. We are looking for someone who loves the vision of the digital twin platform and can contribute to the development of the software and data services needed to run, monitor, and scale the digital twin platform and supporting services.

You will report to the sub-function manager. This role is hybrid.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and own parts of the platform with the ability to deal with ambiguous requirements
  • Exercise technical judgment in working with cross-functional teams
  • Build components to manage, monitor, and maintain the health of data flow, data storage, and related services
  • Contribute to documentation, code maintainability, and perform code reviews
  • Collaborate within and across teams to develop and deliver bests practices

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field and 7+ years of work experience
  • Professional experience in one or more languages, such as C++, Java, C#, Python
  • Experience with large-scale batch and/or stream processing/platform (e.g. Kafka, Flink, Beam)
  • Hands-on experience building cloud applications (e.g. AWS, GCP.)
  • Proficiency in business level English

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Deep experience working with either RDBMS and/or NoSQL databases
  • Experience with modern Data Engineering tooling: ingestion, orchestration, transformation (e.g. Spark, DBT, Airflow)
  • Familiarity with data governance issues
  • Understanding of security practices around data management
  • Familiarity with DevOps and/or DataOps best practices preferably in a cloud environment (e.g. AWS)
