Senior Project Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Project Engineer to join our team and support the successful delivery of projects across the Huntly Mining Location and Pinjarra Refinery Location. This role will see you leading project execution, stakeholder engagement, procurement and contract management activities, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, cost and schedule performance.

Responsibilities:

• Champion health, safety and environmental performance, providing visible safety leadership to the project team.
• Manage scope, cost and schedule for the defined area of responsibility, ensuring effective change management is applied.
• Oversee successful execution of the project scope across engineering and design, procurement, quality control and related project activities.
• Coordinate procurement, subcontracting and on-site construction management activities.
• Track cost and schedule performance, analyse trends and implement regular reviews and controls to monitor project progress.
• Identify emerging and potential project risks, and develop effective mitigation, contingency and resolution plans.
• Apply strategic thinking in a dynamic environment to deliver the best outcomes for the client.
• Prepare and present project reports to staff and management, ensuring stakeholders remain informed of project status.
• Manage customer representatives and key stakeholders, building trusted relationships through transparent communication on project progress, challenges and issues.
• Maintain and develop capability in database management tools such as Power BI and Power Apps, where required.

About you:

• Bachelor of Engineering, ideally civil or mining; CPPM eligibility or equivalent preferred.
• Current driver’s licence.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience in project engineering or project management; mining operations experience advantageous.
• Experience delivering projects from scoping and documentation through procurement, construction contract management, completion and closeout.
• Strong contract and procurement experience, including tender evaluation, award, administration, claims and issue resolution.
• Experience supervising project delivery teams and coordinating work in remote locations.
• Able to make sound decisions, set priorities and manage cost and schedule impacts in complex situations.
• Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint; Power BI, Power Apps or database management experience desirable.
• Based at Huntly Mining Location and Pinjarra Refinery Location at least three days per week, with regional travel as required.
