Principal / Lead Telecommunications Engineer (WAS Site)
Location: Turaif, Northern Province, Saudi Arabia

Primary Objectives / Responsibilities
- Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
- Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
- Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
- Supports checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
- Technical supervision of project designated Telecom designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duty.
- Preparation /checking of Specifications, data sheets.
- Performance of bid evaluation and vendor document review and approval.
- Knows the project and discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team to meet expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.
- Gathers data from multiple sources and prepares engineering studies, analyses, and calculations.
- Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations through official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc.
- Creates final documentation incorporating all relevant information and pursues customer approval.
- Reviews documentation to assist others and reviews/authorizes work.
- Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable.
- Identify and review new technology development which could be applicable in providing more cost effective facilities.
Job Specific Knowledge
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Telecom Design in Oil & Gas and Infrastructure Sectors.
- Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment.
- Specialized expertise in the regulations, codes and standards and a good understanding of onshore and offshore engineering practices applicable to Telecommunication design for oil and gas facilities.
- Strong technical background in Telecommunications Engineering (with knowledge of the other discipline).
- Specialized knowledge of international codes and standards on telecommunication field and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- A thorough knowledge of codes, standards and practice applicable to the design and installation of instruments (e.g. TIA, ITU, BICSI, API, ISA, ANSI, AGA, ISO and IEC codes etc.)
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training
Full-Time bachelor’s degree in computer/Telecommunication/Electrical/Electronic Engineering from an accredited university.
